Congressman Conyers blog: excellent summary of his efforts

That is a superb summation of the situation and a crystal clear message to every traitor in the White House and all their supporters in the Congress and elsewhere.

Rove-Gate -- Separating the Wheat from the Chaff
<clip>

Next, check out the latest entry by Josh Marshall at www.Talkingpointsmemo.com. The bottom line is that even if -- for purposes of argument -- you accept all of the right wing attacks and talking points as true, they don't matter. Valerie Wilson was a covert operative. (If you don't believe that, please explain to me why a grand jury has been empaneled for more than a year). More than one person in the Bush Administration disclosed her identity and status to Bob Novak and tried to push the story on others. That is a serious federal crime.

And:

More Actions on Rove-Gate Today

Would You Want Karl Rove having access to your classified information?

Several important actions taken by myself and other House Democrats today.

First, I organized a sign-on letter signed by 91 House Democrats asking the president to demand that Rove either explain his actions publicly or resign. It is totally unacceptable for the president's most important advisor to be hiding behind his attorney's legalisms and media spinning. Rove owes us an explanation. Raw Story has a copy of our letter.

Second, I wrote a letter with Rep. Barney Frank asking the Congressional Research Service if presidential advisors such as Rove are subject to impeachment proceedings. Brad Blog has this story. Moreover, the House Democratic Leadership, led by Rep. Pelosi, also called on the Speaker to ask the relevant committees to hold hearings. The stakeholder has the letter.

Like Downing Street, this story is not going away, it will only grow in importance, and coverage. I plan to stay on this matter until we obtain some accountability from the Administration.
