O'Reilly is explaining to Wes Clark how to wage war.
Has there ever been a more delusional, self-important prick in the history of broadcast journalism?

5. He was a Hell of a lot more civil than I would have been.
O'Reilly actually had the stones to "explain" to General Clark how his (O'Reilly's) plan to win the war on terror is far superior to any silly little plans that might have been concocted by the former Supreme Comander of NATO.

15. O'Really - combat veteran, or pervert?
O'Reilly: We've got a caller. Roger. Roger from Portland, Oregon. What say you Roger?

Roger: Yeah, hey, Bill. First things first. You just said you've been in combat, but you've never been in the military, have you?

O'Reilly: No I have not.
Roger: Then why do you say you've been in combat?

O'Reilly: Why do I say that, Roger? Because I was in the middle of a couple of firefights in South and Central America.

Roger: But you were a media guy.

O'Reilly: Yeah. A media guy with a pen, not a gun. And people were shooting at me, Roger.

17. Was Roger the Marine that he was yelling at? O'Reilly told a Marine
that he knew more about the military and combat than the serviceman did. He was livid that he was being challenged. I heard a re-run of this exchange on Air America, and I nearly drove off the road laughing at Bill. He is so arrogant.

exchange frequently. Here's the rest of the conversation...

O'Reilly: Yeah. A media guy with a pen, not a gun. And people were shooting at me, Roger.

Roger: People might think that you actually were in the military.

O'Reilly: Oh... We don't want to mislead anybody. But I made it quite clear... quite clear in many, many circumstances --

Roger: (mumbles something about being, or not being, "fair and balanced")

O'Reilly: (quietly disconnects Roger) Yeah. Hey listen, Roger. You can take your little "fair and balanced" uh... snip remark and shove it, okay? You're not getting on this air. Um... You, mister macho man, have never come close to anything I've done, down where I've been. So take a walk and... uh... 'nuff said.

He is one strange dude!

I switched over in the middle of O'Reilly's lecture, but after the commercial break I saw that beaver-toothed asshole Gibson. Now I understand that it was just a replay.

27. It's always entertaining when rightwingers try to do that with The General
There was the Bill Maher show when David Frum tried to "educate" the General about gays in the military.

There've been several instances where Hannity has tried to "explain" something to the General about foreign policy, especially fun when he gets into "explaining" Europe. (Hey Sean, do you know what NATO stands for? How about SACEUR?)

And of course, O'Reilly, in a league of his own, and with his own falafel.

I love seeing General Clark spar these idiots. They make their little speeches and then try to entrap him with a loaded question, but naturally he outwits them every time. (I also think that in doing this, he's sharpening his own skills against the rightwing... By 2008, he will be MORE than ready to take them on -- and I hope he does!)

Gen. Clark has so much patience for dealing with morons, I would have decked the stupid, pompous, sawed off, perverted gas-bag! Of course that's probably why no one has ever put me in control of an automatic weapon.:hippie:
