As Friday wore on, Democrats' attacks on Karl Rove took a turn for the weird.

After Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) circulated a memo indicating that Rove had violated an agreement on confidentiality every federal employee with access to classified information is required to sign, Democrats followed up with a sharp zinger, "Can Karl Rove read?" The letter was subsequently reforwarded by MoveOn.org.

The email suggested that if Rove had read the confidentiality agreement, he might not have leaked.

That email follows on the heels of another spirited email from the Democratic National Committee communications office: "What is the Difference Between a Family Cat and Karl Rove?"
