Remember Ashcroft covering up that naked statue?

1. Yeah, the shroud came off days ago...
It was a Friday afternoon special...

"With barely a word about it, workers at the Justice Department Friday removed the blue drapes that have famously covered two scantily clad statues for the past 3 1/2 years."

4. Thanaks for the link. I didn't know that Thornburg covered them too!
The first attorney general to use the blue drapery was Republican Richard Thornburgh, attorney general under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. He had the drapery put up only for a few occasions when he was appearing in the Great Hall, rather than permanently installed as it was under Ashcroft.

I lived in PA when Dick Thornburg was Governor, and he wasn't that weird then. What a surprise.

5. Yes, Gonzales took down the curtains, but he's giving
press conferences in another room, usually.

6. The 'Spirit Of Liberty' statue today

The Inquisitor General stumbles, recovers

I'm torn as to how to react to the news that the Inquisitor General disrobed the Spirit of Justice. On the one hand, he's endangering our mortal souls by exposing us to a naked breast, but on the other, he's paying tribute to the great work we're doing at Gitmo, Bagram, and Abu Gharib.

The statue had a bigger pecker than he di ( althoguh so does my cat), but I think he was embaresssed of the fact that he has a 1 inch wee-wee
