A little background.
This morning we were channel flicking and came across a promo on MSGOP for katie's moment of stellar journalism concerning, GASP, THE RUNAWAY FREAKIN' BRIDE! I kid you not! What amazed me most was, in her wrap up, she had a look of journalistic concern that conveyed her belief that she was covering the story of the century. In all fairness, she probably thought she was. Mores the pity.
Later, we were watching Blitzer interview Ted Kennedy and were amazed at the level of bush ass kissing displayed, even by wolfie, whose questions were not only partisan, but insulting to Kennedy as well as any viewer with any level of intelligence.
ChicaAzul & I believe that we have to start calling these bastards on EVERY bit of journalistic CRAP or outright propaganda we see being presented (or CATAPULTED)as news.
To Couric:
"After your in depth MSNBC piece on "the runaway bride" this morning, we were wondering if you might consider applying your somewhat minimalist skills as a reporter to stories that are of actual consequence to your audience.
Some of our suggestions would be;
The Downing street Minutes. Perhaps we would like to know why 1700+ American sons and daughters have lost their lives based on lies?
Who is responsible for the outing of a C.I.A. operative, an act that the father of the president so enthusiastically supported by your network has identified as an act of treason?
What happened with the substantial evidence of fraud in the 2004 presidential election?
Given our memory of your vacuous joy on 1/20/05 as you were bedecked in your Bush/Cheney regalia on the Today Show, we doubt that any of these stories would be of interest to you."
To CNN:
"Mr. Blitzer's interview with Sen. Ted Kennedy on Sunday Morning again shows the depths to which he is willing to sink to continually support the failed policies of the Bush administration.
Time does not allow me to review all of the advocacies of the Bush/Cheney line, but We will focus on 2.
At one point Mr. Blitzer dismissed Sen. Kennedy's recitation of the administration's failures, saying that public was aware of these failures before the election. The fact is that the coverage of the 2004 election, especially by CNN, was almost orchestrated by the Rovian strategy of focusing on fictional faults of John Kerry (such as the many times discredited Swift Boat Veterans and the attacks for voting for weapons cuts advocated by a Defense Secretary named CHENEY) and giving Mr. Bush leeway to avoid discussion of ANY serious issue.
Mr. Blitzer then had the temerity to ask Sen Kennedy if he believed that 1700+ Americans died in vain. I can only wonder if he would ask an administration official if they felt any guilt that these same American men and women, sons and daughters, husbands and wives, fathers, mothers, siblings and friends sacrificed their lives on the basis totally fabricated administration lies.
Mr. Blitzer, as well as the vast majority of those "journalists" who have been apologists of an incompetent and corrupt administration, need to become aware that the vast majority of Americans have had their fill of propaganda being presented (or catapulted) as news. This is why the credibility of the main stream media is in as fast a free fall as the approval ratings of our president."
Will they do any good? More than likely not. Do ChicaAzul and I feel good about having our say? HELL YES!
If nothing else, we're doing our part to let these bastards know that they are being critically watched and no longer tolerated.
Peace!
