when you see a headline like this: Iran Vows to Pursue Nukes
what do you think?

when you look at the story it actually says,

President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Sunday to pursue a peaceful nuclear program — an effort the United States maintains is really a cover for trying to build atomic bombs — and said his government will not be an extremist one.

I am NOT saying Iran should or should not be trusted, but the media sure likes to distort things

2. I think a worse crime is omitting important detail until end of an article
Good journalism starts with a general overall and goes into more detail the farther you read. Sometimes headlines must me short or abbreviated because of space restrictions.

4. this is what I wrote the associate press
This was a headline presented by KATHY GANNON, Associated Press Writer.

Without getting into the politics of the matter the headline is a blatant distortion of what was actually said. This headline implies "nuclear" weapons, while the actual article indicates the opposite.

"President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Sunday to pursue a peaceful nuclear program — an effort the United States maintains is really a cover for trying to build atomic bombs — and said his government will not be an extremist one...."

Are you intentially trying to distort?

It is this kind of shallow reporting that helped propel us into Iraq. Have you no respect for the fourth estate? Do you want to bring back the days of yellow-journalism?

In contrast to you sensationalism, the Wall Street Journal presents the following headline:

Iran's President-Elect Vows
A Peaceful Nuclear Program

Ms. Gannon should be ashamed of herself. I wonder if she is related to the other Gannon/Guckert who served the White House Press Corp so well

5. The wall street Journal headline was the following
"Iran's President-Elect Vows
A Peaceful Nuclear Program"

the wall street journal is NOT a liberal paper. why the difference?
