Has Karl Rove effectively reconnected the Iraq War to 9/11?
He made a cleverly timed statement claiming that liberals (democrats) didn't want to fight the terrorists after the WTC attack forcing many to stand up and announce their eagerness to go to war.

I haven't seen the Rumsfeld interview yet, but I'm hearing a lot of republican spin lately using 9/11 terror and Iraq in the same sentence.

I think they are trying to recapture the patriotic fervor among the public they exploited so well in 2003-04.

For those too informed to believe that Saddam had anything to do with 9/11 they throw in the old "foriegn fighters" line to convince those gullible enough that all the world's terrorists have taken up residence at the Baghdad Hilton and are too overscheduled to cause trouble here.

If foriegners are causing all the trouble in Iraq, why do Iraqis who work with the US have to conceal their identities?
A carpetbagging terrorist from Syria wouldn't know who their families are.

One thing is certain...America is facing an era of true evil, but it originates from within.

1. Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, you won't get fooled again or something to that effect.

3. I think it goes like this
There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says, fool me once -- shame on -- shame on you. You fool me, you can't get fooled again.

2. It's never been DISconnected in the minds of many. So he/they are
simply trying to reinforce this lie.

I hope unsuccessfully.

4. Gen. Abizaid
was talking about Iraq on Face the Nation this morning. He said we're fighting the terrorists responsible for the 9/11 attacks. We can expect Chimpy to spout this same lie Tuesday night.

shrub's ratings are dropping, the support for the illegal war is dropping and hopefully evil karl's venom will only spew on himself.

7. I wonder how many people are listening though
If it's the preaching to the choir route it won't make any difference. A lot of people either sleep in on Sunday's or go to church and if Rummy was on during the morning nobody would've heard him unless you're a die-hard Rummy fan (blah) and taped it or something. You can tell more people are pressuring them to get out of Iraq so that's why they're doing that obviously.

8. No
That's what he is trying to do as a strategic retreat on his foolish misstep, but it is not sticking, and his insult to all non-conservatives is taking the front position in his debacle.

10. I hope you're right and the backfire hits him full in the face
But I fear it was just the opening shot in a month long salvo aimed at "regaining support" for the Iraq war.
