If shrubco falls severely out of favor with America (as it seems
on the road to finally doing), and the RW Media (FOX News, hate radio etc.) stay "on message" with them, will all the people in thrall to their siren song finally become disenchanted and stop listening to this crap?

Will there be a sea change in this country that could start to break the power of the RW noise machine through drying up their business?

It's obvious enough what they are and what they are doing, but none are so blind as those who refuse to see...

1. I so, so hope for a "tipping point"
but I'm not holding my breath, either.
I used to have faith in even republicans that eventually good sense would prevail over brainwashing.
after the last two "elections", I no longer have faith in ENOUGH americans to overturn this tyranny of the mind.

4. Maybe where you live they turn off Faux. I'm in TX.
They eat that shit up. I don't hear much talking up of the chimperor or his war these days (the wingers are mostly just quiet), but they are still watching and listening to all this crap.

6. And they will now listen to Clark on Faux News in Texas
And that is why General Clark's appearing on Faux commenting
on the war is such a fabulous idea.

All those red states plugged into Faux will now hear
someone speaking truth to power.

7. The Fox News channel's
... ratings have dropped 58% since Nov 2004. People ARE tuning out, and Americans have a basic distrust of the "media" and always have.

http://yogo.dailykos.com/story/2005/5/18/233145/470

Fox got ratings by telling people what they wanted to hear. But that only works as long as what you are telling them is believable. And Americans are not going to just forget all the cheerleading bullshit they've been fed. I claim that the backlash is here, and growing - and the cable news networks know it - that's why they are running more and more objective news.

Reality trumps propaganda. The news channels who continue to act as though everything is just fine are going to find their credibility shot and their audiences gone. Count on it.

10. I think a percentage of that drop...
in ratings, is due to members of our side, turning it off. I never did, but some on our side watched fox, for reasons more in tune with a recon mission. I am not faulting this, and with that being said, now that the election is over, there is no need to watch their democracy-threatening antics anymore. I would also like to thank "Crooks and Liars" and "Dem Bloggers" for sparing people from watching, and ratings-wise, propping them up. These sites give us the highlights of the news, without the corporate spew, and for that, I thank them very much.

12. seems true;
for the first time in months, NPR was giving real news this morning( Looks like the public backing scared off the repubs) if CNN goes on with " fox light" I think I'll get rid of cable....it's all about selling soap...I guess two people screaming at each other no longer passes for News...watch Rupert move into liberal media...(it's rummored)....that would be a hoot!!

11. No. Because the hate radio/tv will just change their message to fit the s
situation. If they really and truly saw that Bush was about to hit the road, they would start talking up the replacement and things will go on as before.

These people are in hate radio for the money - not their personal beliefs. They will change thier dialoge to fit whatever situation is needed at that time.

The dropoff in rating for them and CNN is because election coverage is over.
