Any body hear that Chinese trying to buy UNOCAL?
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 05:40 PM by rurallib
Some body called that in on the Ed Schultz show. If this were true, I'd think it would be a HUGE story after all fuckhead has done for UNOCAL.
Our local paper had a story yesterday that the Chinese were trying to buy Maytag. And how could we stop them? They own our government.

5. UNOCAL used to be Union Oil of California
Not sure why the sarcasm. If the Chinese are trying to buy UNOCAL they would be buying the company that has, I believe, the largest known oil reserves. This is why Chevron made a big play for them a couple weeks ago.
Also, used to employ Harmid Karzai as a contractor. Many speculate that we went into Afghanistan to throw out the Taliban so UNOCAL could run a pipeline through their country. After all that it would seem strange to let the Chinese just come in and buy the company. But since the Chinese are our banker how can we stop them?

6. Iremember my grandmother saying "Communism will take over the USA without
firing a single shot." This was 40 years ago. Little did I realize that it would be Chinese Communist not Russian.
