What are the honorable uses of the flag?
With permission from tk2kewl I wanted to know what would be deemed honorable.

4. When someone who truly loves and respects their country
flies it to honor America, not just as a statement that they are "part of the team", not as a statement of loyalty to Bush, and not as a fashion statement or fad.

7. I once had a repub tell me he was shocked that a Democrat would
own a flag.

That is how deluded some of the folks on the other side are....

13. Nice
My comeback would be something like "You notice how Democrats' flags are usually clean and not left to weather damage or dirt!"

Flag burning, protests, stuff like that, fine with me, do whatever you want.

But one thing that really pisses me off is when I see a flag that was just left out by some faux patriot who lets the wind and rain tear it to shreds.

15. Flying it respectfully on Memorial Day, Vets Day, 4th of July.
Or any other day for that matter. A normal sized run up a pole in the morning and brought down at night.

When I was a 4H camper and later camp counselor we would do this as a group after breakfast every morning and after dinner every night.

I also believe fling the flag the same way in public schools and government buildings is honorable and appropriate.

16. Reminds me of my neighbor
He hates bush with a passion. Three times a year he sends his flag to the cleaners because he puts it out on almost every holiday. He takes really good care of it.

8. Draping the coffins of our servicemen and women who've been killed...
following orders. In other words, the military dead who * NEVER sees, and whose funerals he NEVER attends. :grr:

10. I second that!
He's a damn coward. He was too cowardly to serve in combat and he's too cowardly to face the families of those he sent to die.

BTW, love your cats :)

18. I read about that...
What a disgrace.

We have the right to mourn our war dead and bush denies the people from doing it.
