"Ask the men and women who stood on top of the (World) Trade Center," said Rep. Randy (Duke) Cunningham, R-Calif. "Ask them and they will tell you: pass this amendment."

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Or they might say, where they met in heaven the ghosts of hundreds of thousands of Iranians, and Palestinians, Israelis, and Iraqis and Saudis killed by fervent nationalism and superpatriotism:

"Denounce Nationalism, it is the scourge that led fanatics from the middle east to tear down these beautiful towers, and it is the scourge that led the fanatic in the white house to bring ruin to even more desert people."

6. Did Cunningham say that
from his "rented" yacht owned by a defense contractor? You're sunk you unethical scumbag. You have no right to tell us anything about what's right and what's wrong.

7. What the hell are they doing, trying to rile us up on this one?
For crying out loud, the only ones I see burning the flag these days are the Iraqi's....this is just another red herring to make us sound unpatriotic....

I say, let them do it, we can change it when we take over...plus, it will really be an act of defiance if someone does burn one now...

8. Take a good look at that AOL poll page.
It was stealthly designed to skewer the poll in favor of the amendment (which it has 61%-39%). First of all, the picture of the burning flag is so disturbing that an immediate feeling of disgust erupts in all of us. The anti-amendment wording is "it should be allowed." which if loosely translated it means when you leave your house each mornng you will see several neighbors burning flags! The pro-amendment wording is "it should be banned." Well of course! What true-blue, red-blooded American is going to go against that!
Way to go AgOpL.
