So if I go to the store and buy a flag with my own money...
I can't do what I want with it? It's my personal property.

2. Apparently not.
You can, however, take your own money, and buy an Escalade which will pollute the country and harm our children, and expect a nice fat tax break for it! :)

3. Republicans should back you up if you want to burn it...
They are the "party of personal property rights" or so they claim to be...

Just keep the receipt in case...

4. So if i accidentally caused my flag to
become unservicable by tradition i could burn it. so many loopholes even if they did pass the amendment.

5. Bring it to Toronto and burn it in front of the US embassy.
Nothing they can do about that. Although, Fred Phelps (the rabid anti-gay activist from Kansas) burned a Canadian flag on the steps of parliament and was quickly given a ticket for having an uncontrolled fire in a public place.

6. Just don't do it folks...
The Repukes don't own the flag just like they don't own the military. It's our flag and we should respect it.

7. I respect what it represents
To me this is an object. I have a flag and it's my property. I should be allowed to express myself as I choose so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

Whether I burn it, sit on it, raise it or whatever is my choice.

10. Hmm. I see your Navy Seal
I too was in Navy and retired. And you are ABSOLUTELY correct. They do not own my flag. If i want to disrespect it i believe i have earned the right. If i choose to respect it i have that right also. Bottom line "Ain't none of their frigging business"

11. That flag is communal property, comrade.
The collective forbids you to do anything anti-social with our flag.
