Theocracy vs Democracy
Did anyone else get this in their email?

How did you get on my email list? I culled email addresses from each states' Democratic Party web site. There are about 3000 of you currently on the list. If you do not want to receive emails, hit reply and put "remove" in the subject line. I only send out a message once every month or two, and think it worthwhile, but know some may disagree. I hope we can work together, and that I can be of help.

As a town committee chair, my email address is displayed on the state committee's website. Any thoughts on Rich Hall or www.ChristianDemocrat.us?

Theocracy vs Democracy
Date: Mon, 20 Jun 2005 18:00:57 -0700

Hello -

I have published a new paper on my web log entitled "Theocracy vs
Democracy" and think you will be better informed for reading it. Less
an expose' than an overview of the problem with supporting links (that do expose and provide cause for real concern) and suggested discussion points to use when encountering people of theocratic thinking are offered. Especially when dealing with Christians that are torn between the rhetoric of the GOP and the actions of the DNC, this article will help you understand their position, point to the flaws in their thinking, and offer biblical and logical alternatives. Similarly, when dealing with secularists that won't get off their butt and vote, these topics may be the ones that inspire them to action.

You really need to read this article if you are unaware of some of
these concepts and how to deal with them: Christian Reconstruction (of our government!), Theocracy, Dominion, and Christian Zionism.

Here's an excerpt:

"Theocracy means “God’s Government.” There are many in elected office
today that would personally if not publicly espouse that it is time for God’s government to rule on planet earth. They are smart, well
organized, and succeeding in their theologically misguided attempt to
take over our government through the voting booths. They are doing it
legally and, if not stopped, will bring continued war and poverty,
famine and pestilence to the world as best they can. Those are some of the signs they see as positive (!) towards the end of times."

My previous article "Faithful or Not, Here We Come. Together" has
received great comments and requests for further thinking from several folks high up in the DNC and from research groups as well. If you haven't read it, it is still posted on the blog for reading and
commenting.

With thanks,

Rich Hall

1. The Theocratic Designs of the Dominionist Christians
Fundamentalist Radical Clerics such as Falwell, Dobson, and Robertson are not merely medieval throwbacks or misguided religious hacks. They are part of a well organized subversionary movement known as "Dominionism".

Dominionism constitutes a serious threat to American Democracy. These Radical Clerics have developed and are executing a detailed plan to gradually replace the free, secular democratic society of the United States with a Theocracy.

It is critical that people become aware of the extreme agenda these people have for the United States and ultimately for the world. The results of the 2004 Presidential Election were not a fluke or something that was drummed up over a period of months. It has been in planning for over 20 years, and what we are seeing take place now is, in the words of Katherine Yurica, "the swift advance of a planned coup".

The articles below are critical for understanding the Dominionist movement; for realizing how real and how detailed their plans are; and to become aware of how far they have come toward achieving their goals.

3. Great links, thank you for these.
Much to read here. I have often wondered, "Is the religious right using the republican party or is the republican party using the religious right?" Lately I have been feeling that the "neocons", which in essence are neither true republican or overtly religious, are using both in order to increase their profits. I look forward to some good readings in your links, thanks again.

4. I've wondered too...here's what I think now
They have been using each other - that is, the Religious Reich has been using the Republican Party AND the Republican Party has been using the Religious Reich...

BUT...

The Religious Reich is much stronger than most people realize and they are fully capable of overpowering the Republican Party, the NeoCons, etc.

2. This isn't Rich Hall the "Sniglets" guy, is it? Seems OK though.
Remember Rich Hall, the guy who came up with "Sniglets" - "not real words, but should be"? Funny dude - he was on some comedy show about 25 years ago, I think. I don't think this is the same guy, but this fellow's heart seems to be in the right place. I'm not a Christian myself, but I'm happy to see those who don't want their faith & country hijacked speaking up.
