Any Lawyers (or anybody else) have an answer for me about DSM?
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 10:01 AM by rateyes
I am wondering, and hope some lawyer reading this..
has an answer to this question. Can the Gold Star Families bring a class-action Civil lawsuit against Bush for wrongful death? If he knew what these DSM's show, then he took the country to war illegally, and our soldiers died because of his reckless disregard for the truth. SCOTUS has already, in the case of Paula Jones v. Bill Clinton, already determined that a sitting President could be forced to defend a civil suit while in office. So, why not sue Shrub, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, etc. and put them on the stand in front of a grand jury--under oath? Any lawyers out there with an answer. And, if the answer is "yes," any of you willing to take the case?

1. No.
Its a stone cold absolute impossibility. For many reasons, every one of which is legally insurmountable. You should be glad, too, because if it were possible, the republicans would sue every democrat for every decision they make in office, and all government would be permanently paralyzed.

Clinton was sued for a personal action taken in his personal life before he took office as president. You cannot sue the president for his actions as president. Impossible, and as I said, you should be glad its impossible. Impeachment is the only possible remedy.

2. Thanks for the answer.
That's why I'm not a lawyer.

3. How about charged with a Felony to Conspire to Defraud the USA,
I read something a while back from John Dean on this. He was talking about if no WMD's were found and if it could be proved that Bush lied about it.

4. Hey hockey mom,
that would be a good question for the discussion forum, IMHO.
