I'm dead, but I'm editing furiously - I have some GREAT footage (some was supplied to supplement from a pal call FLUX who was there as well and will get full credit..

A Congressman announces he's showing up at the gate and they seem to NOT KNOW?

Is it any wonder that americans should feel UNSAFE?

BUt I will tell you this, the minute that anyone sets up a tripod anywhere near a govt building there then a guard or cop shows up and is on you like a june bug.. that's why most of the Rally and some intro shots will be hand held shots..

There are tripods at the White House.. they are on the roof, and they are looking for OTHER tripods with a scope :)

I was actually NOT ALLOWED to set my camera on a streetlight switchbox to steady it as I filmed the Supreme Court Building - a female cop came over and told me that was the same as a tripod..

Gee, do I feel safe now :)

,...who really REALLY does NOT want his evolving manhood (yeah, he's very much a teenager) interrupted by the likes of "politics" that I contributed to have a DVD that may very well be something more valuable than any baseball card he's ever collected. *LOL* He suddenly took greater interest in DU and is constantly wanting to see what's happening here.

He is ready to watch my "special" DVD when it arrives.

26. You know, this may sound corny

but one of the reasons I do these things, like make a coffin and lay it at the foot of the enlistment center in the middle of Times Square with a flag, a flower and a headstone that says ARMY OF ONE on it (and get told to move along after I got the attention the message deserved) is to give people HOPE and let them see that YOU can be involved, that you may have to go out of your way --

sometimes out on a limb while someone else is cutting the limb off, etc..

Sending out a small ripple can cause a tidal wave - or as the old saying goes, "Evil wins when good men stand by and do nothing."

Sometimes it takes just ONE person to get something rolling.. think about that guy who stood up in front of McCarthy and said, "Have you no SHAME sir?"

It was the END of McCarthyism -- that moment, and it only took one person to do it..

and that person could just as easily be YOU.

Now that is HOPE, eh? 350 million persons in the US that could change the world one at a time..

Besides, I'm an idiot who likes to push boundries, and believe me, I've paid for it a thousand times over :)

THanks so much to you and Lady Hawke for the comments.. I was actually talking to my wife about it the other day.. I'm really not into this for the money (be lucky to get my rent back, and my editing/filming time is basically FREE), or ego - I've already rode around in limos and hung out with movie stars, etc (it's BORING, and they are just like YOU or anyone else, really) --

My hope is to GET BUSH OUT, and save lives.. especially since I was Drafted during Nam, and my son is now nearing 19 - in a way I'm doing this for HIM most of all. :)

I wonder if my local peace group would go along with that? Probably not, because most of them are peaceful even in protest and won't do anything that seems "violent." Pushing boundaries can be violent, but I'm all for doing that, if necessary. I think you had a great idea and you might have opened some minds. :)

It REALLY gets them, and they won't touch a LADY - you're perfectly safe..

And I found the cops usually don't want to screw you over, sometimes they even agree with you, but can't say it officially..

It's not hard to make a coffin out of cardboard and duct tape - just make sure you put some cardboard cross pieces on the inside for strength, and it's pretty light too - you just fold the ductape in half to hold all the parts together, then tape the lid on (make the bottom and top the same sizes..

I covered mine with black construction paper and black duct tape, very cheap -- take it to the middle of your town and leave it at some memorial, etc..

I did it when there were only about 400 dead troops, and as a Veteran (who worked in a VA hospital after I got out) I was pretty pissed at what Bush was doing..

I saw some very inspirational speech both in the hearing and at the Rally (and in some interviews) and considered it a PRIVILEGE to be around all these folks..

I haven't felt this kind of RUSH since the 60's, just crackling and heartwarming and SERIOUS in it's intent..

This ain't no party, this ain't no disco, this ain't no foolin' around, as the Talking Heads said..

We've got the Hammer now. WE can be the Media.

I believe one of the reasons the White House caved was because of all the CAMERAS - it's all about PR now, so WE have to use PR to fight them, and it works.. when you watch the DVD look for the cameras INSIDE the White House gate and those opposing cameras OUTSIDE..

I've got footage I'm adding of the little "tent city" on the White House lawn where the Media guys hang out all the time, all their equipment is wrapped and ready to go right on the lawn, umbrellas, starbucks coffee, walking in and out at will..

Nice of them to actually get off their asses and walk 30 feet to cover a story, eh?

Except I really haven't seen any of THEIR footage of this...

42. I'm assembling the raw footage and B-Roll right now

b-roll meaning things like buildings in DC so that the DVD has "establishment" shots (like in a movie at the start you think, "Where am I?" and the movie will show clips of a city or a farm or whatever) - and yes I have been thinking of narrating a portion, but I really don't want to inject myself into all that much.. what the people in the hearing and rally/interviews have to say is MUCH more important than the guy that shows up with a camera..

I do have some comments I want to make here and there - maybe talk about how I had to fight to get INTO the hearing, that CNN, and all the rest will grind you against the wall to get their shots, or get in your way, etc

I really had to physically battle at the start of the hearing for my spot..

ALso want to bring up and show the media sitting on the LAWN of the WHite HOuse just waiting for someone to come out with their indocrination of the day.. and if you look at the trailer you can see the Cameras INSIDE the White House fence and those OUTSIDE were in a fierce PR battle with Conyers wisely right there in the middle utilizing them, and it was BEAUTIFUL :)

But I don't want to try to make this "The Symbolman Show" at all.. that would be pretty arrogant, and I'm not Michael Moore..

Not yet anyway.. but if I had real money I'd do some real damage..

Some behind the scene stuff that people should know will be on the DVDs for sure..
