Voting machines? We don't need no stinking voting machines!
I respectfully submit--those of us who are worried about the veracity of the vote count on these machines, and the lack of a paper record of the votes cast...BOYCOTT any election using said machines, visibly and publicly. With signs of protest.

WE THE PEOPLE DO NOT TRUST DIEBOLD VOTING MACHINES.

Would this work? Or would it backfire?

Thoughts?

2. I already do
but I notice a LOT of folks here are worried about this subject, whether we can trust our elections anymore due to these machines.

Voting absentee is a definite option, in my opinion...though I wonder how many would get "disqualified" if it came to that.

3. I don't know either but I'd trust it over the machines
I'd like to see a Nationwide campaign on voting absentee and boycotting the machines

4. Very good idea
It occurs to me this would be the place to propogate such an idea.

If we can get attention for it.

5. NoPaperNoVote.net
Check out this site. A friend of mine started it but hasn't had any time to work on it. Any volunteers?

Might I suggest, however, that it be www.votePAPERabsentee.org?

In Georgia, if you go into your elections office to request an absentee ballot, you are forced to use a DRE on the spot. In that case, you have voted in the MOST insecure way possible, but voted absentee.

If you have some time to work on the site, I'll be happy to put you in touch with the site owners. It's on a free hosting site (onlinepolicy.net) so it just needs to be developed.

They're using the Drupal CSM for the site, so you might want to get up to speed on it at http://www.drupal.org if you're not familiar with it.

PM me an email address and I'll hook you up.
