Somebody please explain Coingate to me.
I've been off DU for a few days and not really doing anything but looking for a second job....I read references to something called Coingate here and there, but can't find the threads that would explain what it is.

If someone could link me to those threads and/or give me a concise, succinct encapsulation of what it is, I'd appreciate it. I might even put you in my will.

Thanks, DU!

If you get ipodder download the Majority report from this week. Sam has talked about it and gave some good information. Apparently the state had all these coins that "went missing." It's thought that they turned them into cash and gave it to the Bush/Cheney re-election campaign team in Ohio which inturn would be Ken Blackwell since he was head of it and he had the vote rigging computer in his office and was even bragging about it. So he wouldn't need all this money for campaigning because the fix was in. That's why I think they're the key to this. Plus the Bush family has a history with Ohio up to Samuel Bush. I think if you figure out what happened with the coins you can uncover everything with the last election. Earlier this week Sam said on the Majority report there was some very very strange real estate buying.

Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 01:30 PM by htuttle
The mob takes over an organization (Ohio), hires a bunch of mob accountants to handle it's pension plan (or Worker's Comp), mob accountants embezzle all the pension money and send a big kickback to The Family as part of their 'vig' (in the form of campaign contributions, personal favors and cold hard cash).

It's kind of an old scam -- I just haven't seen it played out on such a large and obvious scale before.

Rico. Ri-co. Rico, Rico.
(sing to the tune of 'Biko' for desired effect...)
