The Canadian Parliament sounds like a bar brawl.
Who the heck does all the catcalling--is it the members or the gallery?

1. If it's anything like the British - it's the members.
It makes for more fun, both the U.S. House and Senate are (quite frankly) as dull as dishwater, I'm surprised that members can stay even awake - never mind engage in the debate.

2. It is the members, Question Period is our 15 minutes of
Showtime, lol. The rest of the time it is as interesting as watching paint dry for the most part.

3. Just like in Britain...
and BushCo could never subject himself to something like it. I love it!

4. Heh heh...
Someone over in the Canada forum once described the Canadian House of Commons as "Like the British Commons with a two-drink minimum."

One of the more notorious incidents came a few years ago when a Liberal MP accused a Reform MP of making a racist remark. The Reform guy blew a gasket and hollered, "Are you calling me a racist, you little son of a bitch? I'm coming down there... C'mon! C'mon!" I think he had to be physically restrained.

Great stuff!

5. Perhaps this is what DC needs...
hmmm...actually didn't we used to conduct business a bit more like this? Using all our "Rugged, American spunk and individualism?

Wonder where that all went.

6. I LOVE QUESTION PERIOD!!!
It is the only time you get to hear what these nitwits actually think of one another...

The constant desk-pounding is a little annoying, tho...

7. Then there was the time an MP named Sheila was berating the
government and a salty Newfoundlander Sang "Pass the Tequila Sheila and lay down and love me again".
