5. I didn't agree with everything he did but damn the guy was at least...
civil and reasonable.

I saw some softball Diane Sawyer interview and he was more intelligent and engaged there than Bush is in a press conference.

Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 11:20 PM by BullGooseLoony
Clinton doesn't want to comment on it.

Said it's clear that Bush wanted to invade well before....

Cheney was visiting CIA....

1,700 dead Americans...

But we want this to work.

Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 11:27 PM by BullGooseLoony
The fact that the DSM got mentioned by someone as well-loved as Letterman in this country is already unbelievably good news.

Clinton also said some things against Bush, too. He wanted to invade. Cheney was going to the CIA.

But he also said something that I believe, too- that we want Iraqi people to be successful. We need to remember that.

I was just surprised as hell that Letterman brought up the DSM in the first place. I did some kind of triple take.

I think Bill was too. He knew what it was. He just wasn't expecting that from Letterman.

23. I agree
If you think Clinton doesn't know about it then that's foolishness. And Letterman I think is leftwing so he knows about it.

26. Why not? It's time to stop walking on eggs around these guys
no matter whether they are Dems or Repubs. All subjects should be open to discussion and Letterman or whoever should ask the questions.

27. does anyone find it strange?
That its the comedians that ask the real questions, like Jon Stewart and David Letterman and not the Journos?

I wish Clinton would of really commented on it, but yeepers hes keeping quite.

Did you notice the audience as well? You could have heard a pin drop when Letterman asked about the DSM. And Dave also followed up (something unknown these days in "journalism") when Clinton talked about the elections and mentioned that the violence has escalated, not decreased, in Iraq during the elections.

I've been watching Letterman for years and this is the best I've seen him.

Clinton really needs to stop this slobbering over the Bush family. Bush's approval ratings are dropping like a rock and if he keeps this up, he's going to hurt and not help Hillary next year in New York. Even Republicans are starting to distance themselves from Bush - and for a Democrat to draw closer is just politically tone-deaf.

24. Thanks for the heads up... will watch....I figure Clinton is NOT going
to get in the way of Conyers et al...he is not going to inject himself into this story at this point, it would just be a diversion for the RW to start up the noise machine, similar to what they're doing with Durbin....

28. Well, at LEAST Dave brought it up...hurray! Clinton looked surprised..ha!
Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 11:53 PM by Dover
But Clinton did manage to point the finger at Cheney's part in all this. Cheney has Dubya as an easy diversion and he needs to be the one who gets the heat for the lies.

Clinton clearly didn't want this hot potato, so he did a dance.
