A$$wipe calling for special election.
Yes, arnie who didn't say no to any special interest money funnel his way is going to spend a whopping 80 million dollars of taxpayers money to have 'his' special election.

What would 80 million dollar pay for? Nurse, fireman and teachers. You name it a hell of a lot.

Gov. Schwarzenegger Calls Special Election

POSTED: 2:10 pm PDT June 13, 2005
UPDATED: 5:15 pm PDT June 13, 2005

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (r-nazi) formally announced Monday that he will go over legislators' heads and take his case straight to the voters with a special election in November to change the way California spends money, picks its politicians and hires its teachers.

Democratic Reaction

Sen. Dianne Feinstein reacted to Monday's announcement, saying the state is already "strapped for cash," referring to what she believes will be an $80 million price tag on the election.

"I think it is a mistake to spend tens of millions of dollars on a special election, just eight months before a scheduled election. These funds could certainly be used for a much better purpose, like improving our schools or closing the state's budget deficit," Feinstein said.

I think I'm going to be sick. We are always fighting the damn repukes in office.

1. What gives?
As soon as something happens that Arnold doesn't like, California has to have a special election?

Jesus. I finally feel really sorry for all you folks.

my morning walk around the capital today and when I saw what was coming I made a call to AAR (Talkcity). I let them know I can see them (pro arnie) people setting up. I later heard we out number them 25 folks to thousands and angry voters (anti-arnie) people. It was a site to see.

6. I Smell A Golden Opportunity
The Gropinator's approval ratings keep sinking and the natives I know in California are spoiling for a piece of both this asshat and any Repugnican. I really didn't get this strong of a feeling several years ago.

Now, if the state Democratic party can get is act together...not fight against itself for once and show unity with the unions, teachers and the others shat upon by this scumbag...maybe we can send a message to this regime, and the first of many real shivers to the corporate media.

Let's not waste this...

8. Well
I've heard 62 percent of voters do not want the election in November when we've got one next year in June. Big fucking waste of money.

I'll expect lots and lots of commericals vilify state workers, etc. Asshole.

11. More The Reason...
Yep, it is a waste of money...but so was that last recall and see how much more its cost Californians in all the giveaways and takeaways Gropinator has done. And he wants more? "Bring it on!"

Yep, I hope the Repugnicans really piss off workers who see high oil prices, school cut backs, tax cuts to the rich, a screwed up immigration policy, an illegal war and all their other problems and paint it with one broad brush: Repugnican. They've done it effectively to us, now's the time for the worm to turn.

Cheers!

Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 07:39 PM by evolvenow
Itsn't Enron, bankrupting the energy sector and the installation of the Gropen-nator with Op-Scan machines perceded by an unfair recall of Davis, the ousting of Shelley, who was trying to get rid of the illegal voting machines, stealing millions and millions from teachers, nurses, children, social services, the weird passing of a Prop that allows flipping DNA samples to be taken from anyone arrested, Billions of dollars towards stem cell research which will $$$$ their rich ass investors/corporations and harm animals and poor women, who will most likely be experimented on, as there are no legal provisions in place to protect either, and now a #$%^&*(!! special election, isn't this enough?

NEOCONS OUT OF CA!!

RECALL NOW!!

13. California Election 2005: Reform in Real Time
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 09:25 PM by warrior1
http://www.theleftcoaster.com/

In all the useless blather thats about to splat upon the public consciousness about California Election 2005 the most startling phenomena is the complete inability by the chattering professional pundit and reporting corps to state the obvious: by calling another special off-year election just for governor-sponsored initiatives government as we know it has been chucked out the window, were flying blind in a scary breakdown of competent governance, and that the reform Arnie brings is not in the initiatives themselves, but just the very simple fact that were having annual elections over them.

The phenomena is probably too complex and scary for the Los Angeles Times, for in the last two days the paper, just like a good corporate slut should, has totally ignored the Election 2005 story with no coverage on its home page. As well see in this series the foundation for the dangerous absurdity thats about to unfold is an uncaring, indifferent, ill-informed public electorate. The la times did its part over the weekend by keeping southern Californians complacent, oblivious, and stupid.
