Do you frequent a neutral message board?

By "neutral message board", I mean a site where politics isn't the primary focus, but there always seems to be some threads about politics, where both Republicans and Democrats participate. It is a lot different than having discussions at DU. There seems to be a greater chance to inform your average American about what is going on in the world. They come to the site for other reasons, and while they are there, they pick up a little bit of political news. And usually, a range of both Republicans and Democrats are participating, so the bystanders make decisions and judgments from this lively debate. Things do sometimes get ugly, but that isn't that surprising given the times we are in.

Anyway, my favorite site for "neutral" blogging in Phantasy Tour's Phish message board

Here is a thread I started yesterday on Bush's War I didn't say much to begin with, but then things got really heated a couple of pages later.

So, what is your neutral message board?

6. very cool.
Do people ever talk politics there?

I've found that phish fans will listen to other phish fans political musings easier than they will listen to it from a non phish fan. Something about the tribal nature of some groups, that arguments from people who share a common interest can carry more weight?

2. There are many non-political groups, forums, and the DU Lounge that are no
not political at all - right here in DU. Because there are so many of us here, it makes every group, etc. more interesting. IMHOP

7. Sometimes I get tired of arguing with the choir.
And some neutral boards can reach people who don't follow much politics, but will only click on a political thread once and a while.

3. no
It just doesn't seem to work. The sane voices on such boards as I've seen are drowned out by the loudmouth freeper types.

that is Yahoo! News Message Boards and duking it out with the trolls. It's sort of like the Fight Club of boards--absolutely senseless...but cathartic. Shame on me! ;^)

5. RCgroups.com
As in Radio Controlled planes. I'm the resident progressive, occasionally some old timer will make a stupid anti-Clinton/anti-Dem remark and I set them strait. The hobby is getting "younger" and hipper so it's not as much a good ol' boys club any more.. Thank gawd.
