Taiwan: Are your views Pan-Green (pro-independence) or Pan-Blue (unified)
I'm pro-independence. If I were Taiwanese I'd be staunchly Pan-Green. I agree with the liberal (the Pan-Green supporters are more liberal than the Pan-Blue supporters) Taipei Times when they say "it is no secret that we hope that there is a special circle of hell reserved for unification supporters".

I bet they'll be joining Republicans and Islamists. :)

1. Pro-independence
Can't imagine anyone outside of mainland China taking the other side.

2. What about Clinton?
Not every Democrat is a Nancy Pelosi or a Bernie Sanders, sad to say.

3. There probably are some marxists around
who would tell you that everything is hunky dory in China--look at how great the workers have it, as opposed to the exploitation they face in the west.

Plus there are a few who might be tempted to support Unification because so many hard line conservatives oppose it.

4. So what do the Taiwanese want?
I suspect that Taiwan may very well want political independence, but there is a strong familial and economic attachment to China.

I hope and believe that it is in China's best long-term interests to keep their interest in Taiwan limited to their rhetoric.
