DSM Action Alert for Monday: Contact your local media

I for one will not be writing hundreds of emails to ABC, CNN, Faux
news and every other media slug under the sun telling them that
they need the cover the DSM yet again. This
hasn't worked before, and I doubt it will work in this case. They
don't care about a few hundred emails. They have a nation of people
watching.

All politics is local. I intend to focus on my local media. Local TV
stations, local newspapers, local neighbors. I will get atleast three
of my friends to call and write with me to tell them in no uncertain terms that they'd
better get on this story if they intend to keep me as a
viewer/reader. We have very little pull on the national scale. We have
immensely more pull when it comes to our local media. It's all about
the bottom line, so they'd better listen to us if they want our
viewership.

I urge you to ask those on your email list to follow suit. Tell them
to contact their local fox, abc, nbc, etc affiliates, and
NOT the national offices. Recruit some friends to help you. Tell them
that this could very well be the next Watergate if we play things
right. Even if all your friends aren't that political, try and talk
them into helping you this once. And be ready for the best/worst,
because chance favors the prepared.


Here's what I'm telling them when I call: (first ask for the news dept.)

"Hi, I am a local viewer. Have you done a story on the Downing Street Memo yet? It's all over the Internet. They are calling it "the smoking gun, yet I hear nothing about it in the News. As a viewer, I am really upset that the media doesn't think a memo proving the Bush administration lied to push us into war isn't important!"

Note addresses of every media service in that state!
I used this to e-mail each and every media service in my state a form letter about the D.S.M.! This was done with a mere click on the send button, took less time than it is taking me to type this!
I think you can modify this page to create your own letters as well and still use this service. (Do your own research here). Should have seen me grinning ear to ear when I saw that huge list of newspapers, radio-stations and etc. who ended up with my info on the D.S.M.
A side note: 48 hours after sending that stuff out, a small local paper from that same list wrote a story about the D.S.M., no way of knowing what might have prompted that, but I kinda like to think they got it from a lil' birdie. :patriot:
