Whether the MSM carries it or not, word IS getting out...
At the "official" Downing Street Memo website, there are 13 stories. Next to each story is a counter as to how many have read it. There are currently a total of over 14,000 reads to these 13 stories.

And every article I have read on the subject of the memo has included a reference to this website.

The important thing is for enough people to read about it, then they can pass the word to others, then the others will pass the word to others, and so on. So knowledge of these acts, that the MSM is trying so hard to suppress, will increase exponentially.

Secondly, we have Conyers' ear. We have his attention. He is taking this (as he should-- as ANY good public servant should) very, very seriously.

Maybe we don't NEED the MSM.

1. it will end up just like the gannon/guckert coverage
sorry, but no one is listening, that is how the nazis are getting away with it all

we haven't lost enough Americans, killed enough civillians, or caused enough turmoil and crisis here and abroad

until it starts getting personal, nothing will happen

it is still a volunteer army, and as long as people have the credit to buy things what do they care

interested in this latest scandal. And I'm sure they're discussing it amongst themselves (just as we are) and winning those who previously discounted there was a problem to our side. We can't dismiss them or the ignore the power they wield.

The media's job is to disseminate (accurate) information. Period. And they have failed abysmally at that. So we've sought out alternative media. Because there are other ways to get the word out and I think it's spreading like wild fire. The MSM have proven themselves absolutely useless in helping us in our quest to call these criminals out. But there are all the anti-* people (and there are who-knows-how-many anti-* websites and blogs, not to mention AAR and other progressive radio) who are doing everything they can to spread the word. And their clout is becoming increasingly stronger.

Chimp's approval ratings are low. The repugs' ratings are low. Most people in this country were appalled over the Shiavo sideshow and made it CLEAR they didn't want the government meddling in their personal lives. Chimp's assault on SS didn't win him any friends. If anything, it alienated a lot of people.

Oh, and let's not forget that sleazeball DeLay with his innumerable offenses and flagrant law-breaking. People are on to him.

The silence of the MSM is damning evidence both for them and the criminals they seek to protect.

What I'm trying to say is, perhaps we really don't need the media whores, and why should we? All they do is ignore the truth. But there are other, more reliable ways to get at the truth. And I think that's what we've been doing, day after day, week after week.

Brick by brick.

Aesop said, "Slow and steady wins the race."

And Dylan wrote, "Don't speak to soon while the wheel's still in spin / for there's no telling who that it's naming / for the loser now will be later to win..."

I'm not about to give up.

6. I am not giving up, I am just a realist
we are a minority party now, and it is not only because of the media, but because of our representatives who wouldn't stand up against these thugs in his first term...

2. well to me and my small family the msm has made themselves irrelevant.
Edited on Mon May-30-05 09:24 PM by bullimiami
we dont trust them and do not watch them. maybe this is going on in millions of households all over the country. The msm lives and dies on ratings, we rarely watch tv news and have dropped subscriptions to all papers.
maybe the networks will close the news services for lack of profit and those who care about reality instead of propaganda can once again report it. Only then will they get my support and my money.

3. "Maybe we don't NEED the MSM."
The MSM has rendered itself useless and irrelevant. Their ratings are dropping fast; their credibility is gone. They have sealed their own fate. Yet despite their best efforts to keep us ignorant, truth is finding its way to the masses. :-)

I like that.. We don't need no stinkin' MSM.

The 100,000 signatures will be huge when Conyers delivers them. If he plays his cards right, the story will break wide open (although TV "news" will ignore it once again).
