Is anyone having trouble with the Internet?
I have tried to log-on to a bunch of websites (including Democratic Underground) and it says 'Cannot Open Page'. I know DU is having server trouble - but I don't know why I'm having trouble with other sites.

1. Odd
Well, could be a new virus, hackivism, or Bush's atempt at destroying the Internet so we all have to watch Fox News.

6. Sunspots maybe?
I saw an Aurora alert an hour or so ago, my cell phone has been experiencing recent problems as well. I wonder if there is any connection.

9. Me too...
I had trouble with all sites for a few hours yesterday, and I've had trouble with DU only all day until now (4pm PDT). What's the problem?

11. Sometimes if you hit a wall or bugaboo in one site - it messes up your
browser or program. Try turning computer of for 10 seconds. And then back on. Should all be free and clear.

12. May be your ISP
If you're using a ms os try:

ping -t www.yourisp.com

See if you get any dropped packets. If so it might be that your connection is bad. Unplug the power from your modem and router, wait 5 minutes and plug them back in.

If not try a tracert www.google.com and see if any hop is particularly bad.

"The Internet" as a whole rarely has problems. It's been a few years since a worm went out and nailed everything with ARP requests. Things are a little tighter now. Problems with a big carrier's backbones still happen occasionally.
