Reply:

Dear Concerned Student:

I am not allowed in schools.

Sincerely,

God

The all powerful, Christian God cannot find a way to get into the secular schools? And why only the Christian God? Why not allow all Gods of all religion in our schools? After all, all religions say they worship the only One True God. Never mind all these Gods are different. See a problem here?

----------------------------------------------------------

How did this get started?...

-----------------

Let's see, I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare complained she didn't want any prayer in our schools.

Why are Atheists and agnostics expected to toe the line to those that want their version of religion in everything, Freedom of religion is also freedom from religion. Whose religion are we to have in the schools? Baptist? Which version of the Baptist? Jewish? Again which version? Catholic? Same question, which version? Presbyterian? Ditto. How about Wiccan? Pagan? The last two are far older than Christianity. How about Buddhism? Muslim? Why is it not enough for Christians to teach religion in their churches? As far as I know there is no movement to teach science in the churches.

For there being only one true God, there sure are a lot of religions, each with their own ideas on how he should be worshiped. Also keep in mind you will displease this God by not worshiping your version correctly. Who is correct? They all cannot be correct.

And we said, OK...

------------------

Then, someone said you better not read the Bible in school, the Bible that says "thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbors as yourself,"

And we said, OK...

Unless they have brown, red or black or some color skin other than white. Or if they are poor. Or the wrong religion. Or the wrong nationality. Or if they have wealth, such as oil, gold or diamonds on their property. Then it is ok to kill and steal their wealth. That is the way to be respected and therefore loved.
-----------------
<> Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem.
And we said, an expert should know what he's talking about so we won't spank them anymore..

Violence begets violence. Think outside the box here.

------------------
<> Then someone said teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. And the school administrators said no faculty member in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued.

And we accepted their reasoning..

We are a social species, we need touching to remain healthy. But some equate touching and huging children as child sex abuse. All too many kids do not get any hugs except from their teachers. See next item, it is related to not being touched, as are many unruly children. Children need attention.

------------------
<> Then someone said, let's let our daughters have abortions if they want, and they won't even have to tell their parents.
And we said, that's a grand idea...
Because they can & have been be beaten and abused when found out. Or even thrown out of their home with no place to go. Not all families are like yours.

------------------

Then some wise school board member said, since boys will be boys and they're going to do it anyway, let's give our sons all the condoms they want, so they can have all the fun they desire, and we won't have to tell their parents they got them at school.

No, what was said was the need to teach our children about sex & birth control. If the parents won't do it, the schools have to as a Public Health Policy. Ignorance can cripple and kill you as well as those you love.

And we said, that's another great idea...

------------------

Then some of our top elected officials said it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs.
Why would the government have an interest in what we do in the privacy of our own homes in the first place? What does this have to do with jobs?

And we said, it doesn't matter what anybody, including the President, does in private as long as we have jobs and the economy is good...
What does personal privacy have to do with jobs and the economy?

------------------

And someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children and then stepped further still by making them available on the Internet.

And we said, everyone's entitled to free speech....
This is a perversion cause by punishment for curiosity about sex in childhood and embarrassment & ignorance about sex in adults . This is a symptom. See the next item.

------------------

And the entertainment industry said, let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence and illicit sex... And let's record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes...

And we said, it's just entertainment and it has no adverse effect and nobody takes it seriously anyway, so go right ahead...
The United States has a twisted, perverted view of human sexuality. It is rooted deep in our society. You can graphically depict violence and death, but you had better not show certain parts of the human anatomy.

------------------

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, classmates or even themselves.
TV is our baby sitter while we work two or more minimum wage jobs to keep from being thrown out in the street, because we are too lazy to make $50,000 or more a year. Daddy is in prison for 10 years for a pot sting and your neighbor got a suspended sentence for attempted murder because the prisons are too full.

------------------

Undoubtedly, if we thought about it long and hard enough, we could figure it out. I'm sure it has a great deal to do with...

"WE REAP WHAT WE SOW," (Gal 6:7)

But we are taught not to think, to just except what we are told.

------------------

Pass it on if you think it has merit! If not then just discard it..

The original email came from an admitted bu$h hater. Didn't they read it before they passed it on? This is not the first I've received from them.

3. I might pass it along with your bolded
comments though.

What a weird set of connections they make. The whole thing starts off about school violence, and then somehow ends up taking a swipe at Clinton (sigh...)

Perhaps if anybody actually looked into who does the shooting, they will find that the kids were probably abused either at school or at home and a disproportionate amount of them occur in extremely religious, restrictive communities.

One could just as easily start a similar email with the question:

Dear God,

Why didn't you protect the children in Viet Nam?

Why didn't you protect the children in Central and South America?

Why didn't you protect the black children of South Africa

or the countless children killed by their parents because they say You told them to?

Why didn't you protect the parents of the children in NYC and Washington DC on 9/11?

Why didn't you protect the children of Iraq?

or the countless children forced into combat or slavery or prostitution or factory labor?

anyway, you get the point.
