NEWS: Lynne Cheney touts Laura as President
Edited on Mon May-30-05 01:09 PM by Bluebear

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - First lady Laura Bush would defeat U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if the two were to face each other in the 2008 presidential contest, Vice President Dick Cheney said on Monday.

Cheney made the prediction after his wife, Lynne Cheney, suggested the matchup in an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live."

Mrs. Cheney noted the rampant speculation that the former first lady, now a senator from New York, would make a bid in the next presidential go-around. President Bush cannot seek a third term in office. His father, former President Bush, was defeated after one term by former President Bill Clinton.

"You know, people are thinking of Mrs. Clinton running for president. I think Mrs. Bush ought to run for president," Mrs. Cheney said. "If we want to have a Bush dynasty, let's get Laura Bush."

3. Eva Peron was never president
though Isabel Peron served for a short while after her husband's death.

Lynn Cheney is delusional. What an absurd idea. It will go no where.

5. Yes but she was the Argentine "Spiritual chief"
as proclaimed by Congress. Ostensibly the hero of the "descamisados" or working class, she was equally loathed by the military and the upper class because they saw her own personal aspirations to the President which only her death interrupted.

The difference here is the upper class would hail Laura as one of their own because no Bush is a friend to workers.

7. the only similarities is that they are married to heads of state
Laura Bush possesses none of the qualities Evita demonstrated and she is not adored in the same way. Nor does the Bush administration bear any similarity to populism.

4. oh, go write a bad novel about lesbians on the High Prairie with
dead prairie dogs as a central motif.
* also once said, "Don't cry for me, Argentina," completely out of context with the sentences before and after it.

6. Full quote (what an ass)
"You cannot be president of the United States of you don't have faith. Remember Lincoln, going to his knees in times of trial and the Civil War and all that stuff. You can't be. And we are blessed. So don't feel sorry for - don't cry for me, Argentina." - Poppy

20. poppy means "faith" in the
power of oil and the almighty American dollar.

Faith in greed, oil, and the power of pollution.

Faith in poppy's eyes is not the same as the Faith in the Force of Good.

poppy can fuck off.

Give me a break. I am sure that sits especially well with McCain and Frist and Jeb and Santorum and Brownback and whoever else among that misbegotten crowd of (Namecalling avoided on account of holiday) RepubliCONs who has aspirations for career advancement.
