Very cool group seen in local Memorial Day parade....

Saw a great contingent marching in the Kalamazoo, MI memorial day parade this morning.

There were a group of adults and children with a big banner that read: CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM. Centered below it was text that read: Christians, Jews & Muslims For Peace. Most in regular street clothes, but some were wearing yarmakules. I spotted a couple Roman collars and nun's habits. There were some women in chadors.

They didn't recieve as hearty of an applause as did the rest of the para-military parade entries, and unfortunately a few people within earshot said some dispariging things about Muslims.

What was cool, though, was that some woman wearing a Support The Troops t-shirt and waving a couple of flags gave one of the anti-Muslim assholes an old-fashioned, whoop-ass dressing down. Guess you can't always judge a book by its cover.
