Fake Media Memorial Day Bullshit is making me PUKE!!!

If the media REALLY cared about our troops they'd repor the TRUTH!
They'd report on the Bush Administration and not WHAT the Bush Administration tells them.

News anchors wearing black as if they are in mourning or care is making me sick. Anchors reading messages to and from the troops as if they really care is making me ANGRY.

Why not report on the war dead for real for once? Why not report on Iraq Truthfully EVERYDAY. I'll be boycotting the fake MSM for to day.

Or of its origins in another war about a hundred and fifty years ago, a war that wiped many communities off the face of the Earth by virtue of its hideous death toll.

I am not trying to excuse them, just saying that they are empty now because they choose to be. Their time of usefulness is over--and has been for going on five years.

I made my living in and around the "news media" for better than 35 years. From where I sit, it is irretrievable; not only does it waste your time, it runs up your blood pressure. Give it up for the Zombie that it has worked to become. Step away from the animated corpse.

3. A Mother Away From Her Child

In one of those cute "Hi Mom" videos they show of soldiers saying hello to their families back home was one I saw yesterday...it was a young woman in fatigues wishing a happy holiday to her family and her 6 month old child!! Yep, she's in Baghdad doing this regime's dirty work, in harm's way and she's missing some vital bonding time with her child. She'll miss his/her first smiles, standing up, walking, talking...and for what???? Just sickened me.

I would have hoped there was enough compassion in the Pentagon that if there's a young mother whose in your ranks, you don't seperate her from her child during the critical first two years.

6. Did you see the memorial day concert on PBS last night?

I usually enjoy the memorial day concerts, they are usually so much more thoughtful and inspirational than the 4th of July hoopla, but this one was the most anti-war event I'd seen. I was surprised at something supported in part by DOD. I was moved to tears several times. They honored the 60th anniversary of Iwo Jima, with a reading of an account by a Navy medic that really brought the immense casualties home. He wrote of his nightmares in the years since and about how he was able to symbolically bury them in the sand at the beach during his trip to the 60th anniversary observance. He and a handful of Iwo Jima vets were seated at the front of the crowd and all the dignitaries went over to shake their hands afterward. They had a remembrance for Ossie Davis, who had emceed the event for many years, introduced by Colin Powell, and with readings by Davis's wife, Ruby Dee, and with his entire family seated at front. They had a beautiful reading from a soldier's letter home from Iraq, and a reading from his widow, who was also seated in the audience. They actually did mention the number of casualties so far in Iraq. It all ended in a singing by all of "Let Peace Begin with Me," followed by "God Bless America." It was sorrowful, but it warmed my heart also.

8. I didn't see PBS last night. PBS usually makes me proud. I don't

consider them a part of the msm. Maybe I'll check them out today to see their offerings.

9. ??? I'm not seeing how this is anti-war...

though I see how it supports the troops, which of course is the point on Memorial Day. I doubt any real anti-war sentiment would be featured by the media on this holiday of remembrance.

7. yeah, it's making me sick, too

They know that support for this war is falling like a brick, so they're working overtime to whip the proles into a patriotic frenzy. It's completely against the somber nature of this holiday, which *should* be a time of quiet reflection and thanks to those who served, not a gaudy pep rally.

On a related note, has anyone else noticed that you get better information about Iraq on your nightly local news than in HOURS and HOURS of cable news? My local news carries current casualty counts (plus the number of casualties since "Mission Accomplished"), as well as where our troops are operating. There's no cheerleading, no right wing talking heads, just facts. Cable news is just a total waste of time.

11. Watching that AWOL party boy lay a wreath on the Tomb

of the unknown soldier made me ill.

I take Memorial Day seriously. Usually I'm in my tiny hometown at the parade and cemetery service, but this year I had to settle for walking around the local cemetery while I silently thanked those who fought for our country, without regard as to my views of the necessity of the wars in which they fought.

AWOL should have gone to Crawford, and let someone in his maladministration who actually served honorably honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. That is if any such person could be found.

12. Every time I see a mother or wife in mourning, I know I spoke out against

this evil murdering, and everyone who knows me knows how irritating I can be about it.
