The heck with the 'snowflakes'. I want to adopt a REAL live baby..
Though they are brown so I know they do not count with the fundies. Look at these Orphans that the aWol** asshole has made!! I want to bring one of these real suffering babies home.

A house mother sits with the toddlers as they rest in their cots at the Salihiyah orphanage in central Baghdad, which caters for children up to the age of six. A growing number of children, whose parents are killed in Iraq's merciless daily violence as well as those who are abandoned by families feeling the bite of an increasingly harsh economic situation, find themselves in orphanages.(AFP/File/Karim Sahib)

2. I hear ya....
There are enough living, breathing kids without families to love them. It's something I think seriously about doing a little bit later in life. Every child deserves a loving family.

8. I agree
I know some parents want their own children but there are still so many without parents for whatever reason that are a live. :( I know this lady at my church who today had three little kids with her today. One was her granddaughter and then the other two were sisters who she adopted and became their foster mother. They were so cute and the oldest of the two (she was about three or so I'd say) was very poliet and friendly. I wish the people who claim to be pro-life would do something, or at least include in their policies, for all the children without parents.

4. Questions
1) What religion would you raise the children in? I, for one, would not have a clue as to how to raise a child as a Muslim even if I wanted to, yet I might feel obliged to respect the child's family heritage. I don't know what I would do.

2) I think it is wonderful to give these poor children homes, but there is also something horrifying about the thought some, but not all of their parents may have died due to our attacks, and then we come in and take the children. There is just something very troubling about that to me.

5. We know two couples who are desperate to adopt
having exhausted just about every other means to have a child of their own. I think this is a grea tidea that could get some real traction. There is a cultural issue, though--could you commit to raising the child as a Muslim? Otherwise it might look like the crusaders were coming to steal the children.

7. It might be better to adopt Stateside (older children) and spend
money to upgrade and hire more staff at orphanages in Iraq, and perhaps to match orphaned Iraqi children with relatives or other Iraqi families who are willing to take them in.

Actually bringing them over here might arouse too many hard feelings among the Iraqi public.

6. Wonderful!
Your government illegally occupies a country, kills the parents of these children, and you swoop in and take them away from said country!!

Yeah, this is a GREAT idea! Worked out well for the aboriginies too!@!!!

And when the babies grow up, they will love that fact!

/head explodes
