SO YOU SOLD OUT FOR CONTRIBUTIONS FROM CAIR FOR YOUR RESOLUTION PROTECTING THE KORAN DESPITE THE FIRST AMENDMENT.

THEN YOU SOLD OUT FOR CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE BUSH HATERS AND CAME UP WITH YOUR IMPEACHMENT RESOLUTION

THEN YOU SOLD OUT FOR CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS TO MORE BUSH HATERS AND CAME UP WITH YOUR DOWNING MEMO INQUIRY.

NOW YOU ARE REDUCED TO BEGGING FOR MORE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE 50 OR SO PEOPLE HERE THAT FLOAT AROUND FROM A HANDFUL OF "HATE ANYTHING BUSH DOES" BLOGS!

MR. CONYERS, YOU ARE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY THE HATE THE MILITARY HATE AMERICA LOSERS IN THIS COUNTRY.

ARE YOU PANICKING NOW THAT YOUR "ACTIVISM" PANDERING HAS BEEN NOTICED BY AMERICA AND YOUR OPPONENTS AND THEY ARE GOING TO GET YOU VOTED OUT?

I WILL BE SENDING AS MUCH MONEY AS I CAN TO ANYBODY WILLING TO RUN AGAINST YOU. YOU STAND FOR EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY: A BOUGHT AND PAID FOR POLITICIAN.

Comment #22: wfrank said on 5/28/05 @ 10:03am ET...

Conyers writes "As regular readers of this blog know, I have never asked for a contribution on it."

No, but NOW you are!

I just don't think the fans of yours that frequent this blog have jobs or the money to support your campaign in the manner you are accustomed. Rude awakening for them!

I think we need an investigation as to whether your offering a signed book for a contribution to your campaign is legal and I will be contacting my Representative immediately and if you have violated the Spirit of the law (notice I said Spirit) I will encourage impeachment.

Comment #23: spin said on 5/28/05 @ 10:05am ET...

What went wrong in Ohio?

Get a better candidate next time.

I sugges somebody that can actually WIN!

7. If only we could split the country. Wouldn't it be great to live in a
country where people might argue about a small point of disagreement, but where everyone was in sync with the agenda of peace, prosperity, opportunity FOR ALL. A country where we get to keep and honor OUR Constitution and Bill of Rights and where we get to improve on its application, interpretation, and care. Where both are used to proved GENUINE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. Where outsourcing and tax theft is monitored and controlled. Where offshore havens are not used for avoiding tax and legal responsibilities. Where representataives work of, for, by us, not of, for, by corporations.

Let all religious and non-religious freepers share their country with corporate, political, military, banking theives in joint cooperation with Sharon for the greater glory of fighting their own wars.

I also blogged, only addressed the First Ammendment piece.

John should thank the dude. I might have been less inclined to actually donate if he weren't being attacked. I think we have to watch the money aspect a bit. I think sites to inform and discuss should be kept seperate from the financial ones, but it isn't illegal - yet.

Comment #47: Tigress DEM said on 5/28/05 @ 4:38pm ET...

Dear John Conyers,

And to DEMs you are so dear as in precious beyond compare. Your diligence in pursuing the TRUTH inspires us all.

The whack jobs that think flushing down the Koran is a matter of free speech are forgetting one thing. This was not done out in a public place as a protest, this was done as an act of torture during war time directed at a specific individual for the purpose not of expressing a simple opinion, but of causing great distress.

Maybe this person isn't a whack job even though HE TYPES LIKE ONE. Maybe this person doesn't realize that many of the people tortured unto death in some cases were never formally charged or allowed to present any evidence in their defense until they had been imprisoned for up to 3 years. In most of the cases at Guantanamo Bay they were denied any visitation by family, friends and even lawyers and had confessions tortured out of them.

In other words, whack job himself could have been sent to the prison in error and had all these things done to him. One person was just a roommate of someone they intended to grab. No evidence on him at all.

Then again, I still have to feel sorry for whack job because the mainstream media is sure pulling the wool over his eyes.

Even CNN Co-Founder Reese Schonfeld openly states on national TV that the media should lie for the government during war time and that the government should be able to lie about torture during war time. I guess if someone as obviously "successful" as the Co-Founder of a national news outlet says it's so, whack job has to believe it.

Me on the other hand, I prefer facts and actual activities that support this country as a definition of myself as a proud American.

If whack job is so into the First Ammendment, he should get closer to GWII because GWII is flushing bits and pieces of the Bill of Rights, the Constitution and in general, our Civil Liberties, everyday.

If the right wing becomes inconvienent for him, he'll probably flush the Bible down the toilet too. After all, people are pointing out many places in that book where what he has done is purely wrong and if there is evidence against GWII it is always in danger of disappearing.

50. If flushing the Koran is protected free speech, then flag burning should
be protected, also.

Yes, I know this wasn't a "free speech" issue and that flushing the Koran was done as psychological torture, but the same freepers crying "1st amendment" don't want flag burning to be protected "free speech."

Also, I love your sig, but a lot of people get lost and don't understand what they're supposed to sign at Conyers' site. I put the whole addy in my e-mail to friends: http://www.johnconyers.campaignoffice.com/index.asp?Type=SUPERFORMS&SEC={0F1B03E0-080B-4100-B143-36A5985EF1E3}

On behalf of "THE HATE THE MILITARY HATE AMERICA LOSERS IN THIS COUNTRY," I must say that I am reflecting this Memorial Day weekend thusly:

How do we send the message that we do not want our soldiers lives squandered, we do not want them dead or maimed or emotionally damaged for reasons that violate the values and the laws and the Constitution of the U.S.A.?

Not In Our Name. No Blood For Oil Magnates.

19. Feel the Freepers pain
I remember how it felt when Bill Clinton was going through the republican lynch mobs impeachment efforts. And that was for lying about his sexual indiscretions. So all the proof that is coming to light about
Bush's deceiving Americans into believing him and allowing him to attack Iraq, has to be very scary, because if these facts are proved and we do the right thing, he and all involved may have to face the world courts for war crimes. If that is the case impeachment would be a birthday party compared to what The Hague would do.

24. When Clinton got put under the gun, I processed like I am now...
I acknowledged what he was found guilty of, affairs and really poor judgement, but the media wasn't protecting him at all AND he admitted his mistake and took accountability for it, even though it could have gotten him impeached. Compared to Bush, Clinton's little lie is small stuff.

How many people have died are dying and Bush still pathologically holds his ground and the media quakes in fear.

I feel the freepers pain is one of dellusion. I was disappointed during the Clinton scandal, still am, but the freepers are past disappointed.

They are embracing someone who would have no qualms about ordering their house phones tapped and their mother sent up to prison if he felt it would get him out of this mess and telling them anything that contradicts Bush is the best damm pResident since Reagan is going to start up the freeper denial systems.

It's sick.

We all know, we ALL (DUers. Freepers, Left, Right, Center) know veterans or deceased military-- in our families or our communities-- we all know soldiers who never came back INTACT, some never came back at all, from every war-- declared or undeclared-- since WWI.

Local "bums" that have been disappeared from American cities over the past two decades were largely WWII vets; Viet Nam vets slipped into the new branding of "homeless."

Bushwar II is creating new generations of victims for reasons that are now documented as investigation-worthy, if not impeachable.

One Hundred Names You Won't Hear This Memorial Day
by Diane
Thu May 26th, 2005 at 08:59:36 PDT

(From the diaries -- kos)
CAUTION: Contains some graphic images

On Monday we will celebrate Memorial Day, the one day of the year when President Bush actually has to acknowledge our otherwise officially-invisible war dead.

1. ZAIDOUN FADEL HASSOUN, 19

Zaidoun Hassoun, a twelfth-grader about to graduate high school, drowned after being thrown into the River Tigris by a U.S. Army patrol in Samarra, in January 2004.

FORT HOOD, Texas -- An Iraqi civilian testified yesterday that he and his cousin were forced at gunpoint into the murky Tigris River and that US soldiers laughed while the two struggled against the current. Marwan Fadel Hassoun said he struggled to shore and tried to save his 19-year-old cousin by grabbing his hand, but the powerful waters swept Zaidoun Fadel Hassoun to his death. ''He was calling my name, said 'Help me! Help me!' " Marwan Hassoun testified through an interpreter on the second day of the military trial for Army Sergeant First Class Tracy Perkins, 33. (Source)

Sergeant Perkins explained at his court martial that he had ordered the men thrown into the river because "I didn't want them to think we were soft or weak." He was sentenced to 6 months in prison.

Manslaughter charges against Army 1st Lt. Jack Saville, who authorized Sergeant Perkins' order to throw the Hassoun cousins into the Tigris, were dropped in a plea bargain. He was sentenced instead to 45 days imprisonment for having a third Iraqi thrown into the Tigris, this time at Balad, in December 2003. Saville had reportedly made a bet with another platoon about who would do such a thing first. He assured his court martial that he had learned from his mistakes, and been "forgiven by God".

32. Perhaps the freepers are so desperate, that they are now enlisting
the help of the mentally deficient, war mongering, religiously depraved, psychopaths to attack Conyers

68. They're not desperate (unless it's for dates).
"Their" side is winning. They're just waiting for their check to arrive, and are growing increasingly frustrated at not yet seeing their dividends. They think that if they shout us down, they will finally be allowed to sit at the big table.

It ain't gonna happen. The uberrich are circling their own wagons ever more tightly; they don't want company--but they're glad for the True Believers that provide free word-of-mouth support for our American royalty.

Freeps are suckers. When the corps own everything, the freepers will lose their homes, too. And they'll still be impotent.

He has shown no fear and no willingness to back down from battles with other members of Congress. I'm sure he can handle the idiot dreg freepers.

67. They're making complete asses of themselves
I've read through the whole thread and it made me sick.

The freepers attacking the Conyer's blog obviously read DU. Someone even posted under the name Truth is All.

As disgusting as it seems it's important to recognize the positives here. First of all they wouldn't waste their time with Conyer's blog if they weren't worried about it. The attacks have driven more people to read Conyer's blog which is really good news. Second they don't say anything that makes sense and they keep repeating the same songs. And third, they do not represent most Republicans and even Bush supporters. Their angry, child like tantrums would embarrass any of the Republican neighbors I have.

One of the freeper posters, originally posting under the name Hank, can not spell, punctuate or even write a complete sentence. The majority of the freeper posts are coming from this one person, and you have to wonder if this person can even speak English. If that kind of intellect represents the other point of view, that is good news for us.

71. I am posting a thread from the JCBlog. It says it all. The poster
is a 16 year old kid whose parents have, no doubt, loaded his room with TeeVees, DVDs, Computers, Telephones, Internet Connections and X-Boxes. (I believe these items should remain in the family room where parents can monitor their children's activities.)

Supposedly, he is working on a school assignment, but is, in reality, being a young republican posting all the talking points of the NeoCons. He is young, arrogant and totally coddled. No life or work experience, but hey, he know women should not have been given the vote.

It supports my theory that most of the NeoCon sites are manned by children. Grammar, word usage and spelling are very juvenile. Adult republicans that I know (between 30 and my age) usually admit to buying all the machines for their children, but claim they haven't the time to waste on the internet. Working class Republicans that I know rely on Faux News after work.

"Will" is more literate than most, but he admitted to being a child.

Another classic liberal argument. Telling us to join the military because we support the war in Iraq. Let's find out what's wrong with this argument.

First of all, the United States sponsors many things that most people support, such as the Peace Corps. Since you no doubt support the humanitarian goals of the Peace Corps., why don't you join?

The reason why you don't join is because you don't want to drastically change your life over something like this. Joining the Peace Corps. means you'll spend at least a couple years away from home, possibly doing dangerous work, and hardly making any money or progress in life. The Peace Corps. missions are best left to those who voluntarily joined; not everyone who supports the Peace Corps.' goals should be pressured to join. Similarly, I support the goals of the US military in Iraq, but I do not wish to join, as I do not wish to abandon my relatively successful life in America for a couple years. Instead, I acknowledge that the only people who should be sent to Iraq are those who bravely volunteered to do this kind of stuff when they enlisted in the army.

Do you support the ACLU? Then why don't you give every cent you earn to them, instead of spending most of your money on yourself? Is it because you want to support the ACLU without devoting your whole life to it? I support the war in Iraq, but I'm not willing to devote my whole life to it.

Another perfect example of how liberals can never accept defeat. First they claimed the documents were true, then when it was proven they weren't, they claimed that Dan Rather was set up.

It seems like it would be pretty hard to fall for that kind of set-up. Those documents were clearly typed in times new roman on Microsoft word, as has been demonstrated many times.
I find it hard to believe that someone in as high of a position as Rather could fall for something that didn't fool bloggers for more than a couple hours. But after all, he is a liberal, so what can you expect?

It's quite obvious that Bush didn't serve very honorably, but it's even more obvious that Rather went out of his way to prove that Bush was AWOL and failed miserably.

Comment #133: Will said on 5/28/05 @ 8:11pm ET...

Republicans would be doing more than demanding investigations. They would be conducting investigations. Republicans have balls. Look at the Washington state gubernatorial election. There were a ton of errors, although no definite occurrences of fraud, and the Republicans are contesting the election in court right now. The Democrats, on the other hand, have been whining about the 2004 presidential election ever since Kerry conceded, and yet the still have accomplished nothing other than gotten a couple radical congressmen to promote the idea that it was stolen. The Democrats simply react. The Republicans, however, act.

Comment #142: Will said on 5/28/05 @ 8:24pm ET...

The army will survive without new American recruits. The Iraqis are signing up in good rates, and the troops will start to leave in 2006.

Comment #157: Will said on 5/28/05 @ 8:37pm ET...

Women should never have been given the vote. Republicans would have won every post WWII election except in 1964 if women couldn't vote :)

I can't run for elective office; I'm only 16. However, I will be working at a Boy Scout Camp for the summer, which pays $2.00 an hour. Unfortunately, it isn't summer now so I'm stuck posting here while working on a seven page paper explaining how World War I influenced modern art.

hate like this since the 60's. :scared: John Conyers is one man who has stood up for us through thick and thin. It's obvious they have too much time on their hands, send them to Iraq. That's where they will grow up, if they are lucky.
