WTF?! HIPAA, for example, demands encryption and protection. 'trusted computing' will demand encryption so "non-authorized" personnel can whistleblow read your info.

But if you use it, who gives a fuck as to why, you're toast. Child porn today, hoarding whistleblower documentation will be the next.

They're using child porn as an excuse now to justify this.

1. widespread use of public encryption
scares the shit out of them. I saw that case too and was horrified that the argument was made and accepted that the use of encryption is now considered to be evidence of criminal intent.

3. The old "What are you HIDING?" argument...
This smacks so much of the way they used to "test" for Witches.

Pretzel Logic. "You wouldn't need to encrypt anything if you weren't doing something wrong, so the fact that you encrypt is PROOF that you are committing a crime..."

What does this do to that long-time favourite of the Geek World, PGP?

My favourite is a 3-rotor ENIGMA emulator.

The image below has a copy of The Declaration of Independence stratigraphically encrypted within it.

The program used was Camouflage v1.2.1 by by Twisted Pear Productions
www.camouflagesoftware.com

The Declaration of Independence was downloaded from Project Gutenberg at http://gutenberg.net

You can download this file and keep it safe. If you ever need to retrieve your secret copy of The Declaration of Independence you can do so with the Camouflage program, or perhaps another stenographic tool.

Please don't just hotlink to my photobucket account.
