What Bush is saying when he's talking
We've seen these kinds of things before, but check out the positive spin (note Ari Fleisher's participation). Hey -- GW is just a regular guy afterall. :puke: But hey....where's the discussion of, say, WMD? As in:

What he says: Iraq is a danger. They have WMD.

When he says it: Every chance he could get prior to starting an illegal, preemptive war (and beyond).

Why he says it: Heck, he checked it out with Tony and the guys in the UK and they said they'd back us up on this one -- we wanna war and we need some kinda reason (don't we??)

Haaa, haaa . . . so funny, jokes on us 'eh?

------------------------
"White House reporter Judy Keen has covered Bush since 1997 and has watched him spar with journalists at scores of news events.

Keen combined her eight years of close observation with insights from former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer.

The result: a guide to help viewers interpret Bush's words. . .

Repeat offender

President Bush uses some phrases over and over:
What he says: "I appreciate that question."
When he says it: Several times in every news conference, usually immediately after a complex or tricky question.
Why he says it: This means he needs a second to collect his thoughts.

1. Here's Richard Perle's Take on GWB's Talk
"The first time I met George W. Bush, I knew he was different. Two things became clear. One, he didn't know very much. The other was, he had the confidence to ask questions that revealed he didn't know very much."

3. he also throws the word "interesting" in, quite a bit
From the context, I assume he means "interesting to me in particular, since I benefit from this, otherwise I wouldn't give a rat's hiney" -- as in, 9/11 was an "interesting day".
