Bush: "You Have To Keep Repeating Things To Catapult The Propaganda"

Prison Planet | May 26 2005 (Props to DONNI for a good catch!)

We were graced with a new Bushism on Tuesday this week but it seems to have conveniently slipped under the radar.

President Bush gave a talk at the Athena Performing Arts Center at Greece Athena Middle and High School Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in Rochester, NY. Bush traveled to Rochester, trying to win support for his proposed overhaul of the Social Security system.

About half way through the event Bush came out with this pearler.

"See in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."

Don't believe it? Click here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/05/20050524-3.html to go to the White House's own website and read the transcript. You can also watch the entire video of the speech. The Bushism is 22 minutes 50 seconds in.

It was also picked up in an op-ed by the Washington Post.

4. Malloy played that segment last night. He played it twice ...
... so that it could sink in.

For those who don't want to wade through more of a Bush speech than is absolutely necessary.

10. I distinctly remember
It was early into the "shock and awe" phase of Rumsfeld's orgy of hubris and stupidity in which I distincly remember seeng old "gosh 'n golly" himself on national TV saying that all you have to do is repeat something over and over for people to believe it's true.

He really said that.

Hey, they aren't hiding anything. Rove et al understand how neuro-linguistic programming works on the mob level. And, they also know it doesn't matter if anyone knows how they do it. It still works!

LOL.

We are so screwed!

7. senior advisor in Bushco regime
”We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

guess who

8. Dan Froomkin had a nice column on it in the Wash post
Not exactly under the radar: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/linkset/2005/04/11/LI2005041100879.html

Thanks for the link to the video. I had read the transcript and it's the same things he says over and over, for the most part. It's when he adlibs he falls off the edge of the earth.

11. “Look, our strategy is to create chaos, to create a vacuum.”
Subject line quote-Bush to advisor from Woodward's book.

and this....
"You're free. And freedom is beautiful. And, you know, it'll take time to restore chaos and order order out of chaos. But we will." George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., April 13, 2003

it won't be hard to pin the legacy as the Bushisms pile up.
