I don't care if Dick Wolf is a republican-his comment made my day
Edited on Fri May-27-05 12:26 AM by chimpsrsmarter
"Producer Dick Wolf, creator of the "Law & Order" franchise, took a swipe at DeLay in his own statement on Thursday, saying, "I ... congratulate Congressman DeLay for switching the spotlight from his own problems to an episode of a TV show."

and hey Tom, dont forget

In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups -- the police who investigate crime, and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders.

3. So let me get this straight,
DeLay threatens judges, and he goes after Law and Order for using a clever joke about the issue? He accuses THEM of trivializing the issue of judicial security? The thing is, Mr. DeLay, words have consequences.

5. Also from the linked article
The flap came as ethics questions swirling around DeLay mounted with a Texas judge ruling on Thursday that a political action committee formed by the congressman violated state law by failing to disclose $600,000 in mostly corporate donations.

Thanks bugman for one more reason to publicize the fact your associates are convicted criminals.

That was a nice slap in the puss by Dick Wolf.

I hope Swamp Rat doesn't mind me linking to one of those fab bugman pics.

6. Were i Delay i'd probably have myself a nice big can of
shut the fuck up. Thats one of the wonderful things about him, when he gets in the hole he keeps on digging. Sometimes when a public figure gets themself into trouble they begin to act somewhat humble and keep a lower profile and sometimes the public at large begins to feel a little sympathy for them, well not Delay, he just keeps heaping more misery on himself.

9. I think his name is Ronnie Earle.
That's the DA. Delay is losing a lot of support. His name is becoming a joke, kind of like Michael Jackson's, or Gary Condit's. I can only hope that happens in his own district, too.

I think Delay is done. If Earle doesn't get him, I think the voters will boot him next year. The local papers have been calling for his ouster for the last few elections. I think critical mass is being reached.

Could be wrong, though. Sugarland, TX, is a scary place. Original thoughts and honest intentions rarely make it into Delay's district, and those that do die a horrible, speedy death.
