Who was actually surprised by the cloture vote today ?
I was not surprised by the outcome. But I was surprised that 3 Dems for it...most surprised by Pryor, I think. I thought Nelson was inconsistent with his vote. Just yesterday, he was saying on C-SPAN that he thought withholding documents would be an "extraordinary" reason to filibuster. So a little surprised by his vote. Also, I thought there might be a couple of more Republicans vote against it...Otherwise, I thought the Democrats would hold together because of the disrespect shown the Senate by Bush - in his refusal to turn over the requested documents.

1. I have a feeling Cheney and Rove and Dobson were surprised.
I have a notion that they thought this one was finally in the bag.

2. I find it hard to believe that Rubbericans show such PartyLine
group think. The true cowards in Congress are those that can't keep their own boy-king in check. Bunch of snivaling yes men. Where are the Pete McClosky's of the Republican Party? It's so obvious that these peope have no vision for America. They've been selected only to maintain the status quo of the corporate elites.

3. I was a little surprised myself, i watched it and it was one
of the longest ones i've seen in a while, it was like water torture waiting for the last vote to come in. Nelson and Landrieu pissed me off once again.
