DU's Memorial Day plans
What are your plans for Memorial Day?

My plans are go get my WW2 vet dad and "homeland security" mom, put on my CG jacket and attend the town service, then go off to a parade near Boston to march with the Vets for Peace contingent, then a pot-luck afterwards.

You?

3. You're fortunate you have
mom and dad, and live close enough to Beantown to make a difference! And what is a CG jacket?
Low-key here as we'll be working to earn more vacation time. :)
Have a great time!

6. Watching the parade from my front porch
On Memorial Day and Veterans Day - it comes down my street.

As an antiwar protester from the 60's, I was never big on the display of flags and weapons. If I was home when it came by, I didn't usually bother to watch it.

After 9/11, I felt differently and started watching the parade. I even put an American flag out on the porch. Took that sucker down after the war on Iraq started. Since December a dove of peace flag has been hanging there instead. But I think its time to change it to the "We the People Say No to the Bush Agenda "flag

You know, haning it upside down (the Union on the bottom) is an international signal of distress. And perfectly legal, as protected free speech under the first amendment.

(hint hint, nudge nudge)

12. Hmm... that's a good idea
D'ya think I'm less likely to get a bad reaction that way? I may be in a blue state, but there are a lot of kool-aid drinkers around here. The dove of peace seemed less confrontational
