It appears the Repubs do not have the votes to invoke cloture...
and hte Democrats have held. It looks like a straight Party vote and that does not give the Repubs enough to stop the debate.....unless they want to resort to the nuclear option....but I think that has already been decided... :)

13. Actually, the Landrieu vote isn't much of a surprise
She'd already sent signals that she was leaning that way. She comes from a conservative district and has to walk a line. One way of looking at her vote is that it was a freebie. If the Dems know they have the votes, and it helps her at home to vote yes, well... That's politics.

We had situations like that with Daschle on occasion, but I'd rather have him than Thune. Glad he's not the Dem leader anymore though.

I think we are just trying to buy time to change minds. I think this has a chance of being defeated. I think a couple or more senators want debate to end but for Bolton to be defeated.
