Chalabi Watch -- Now also in charge of approving all contracts
Edited on Thu May-26-05 08:05 AM by htuttle
Found this on http://www.juancole.com (a short distance down the page in his 5/26 posting).

It's from a long paper published in Al-Da'wah, also repeated by BBC:

The report adds that the cabinet has decided to form a Financial Committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad al-Chalabi which will be responsible for reviewing all the contracts signed by various state institutions.

Oil minister AND government contract approval. How convenient.

He's like a one-man graft factory.

3. Slap in the face to the Iraqi People.
I noticed the violence up ticked after the interim govt. was announced. No big surprise. Having Chalabi in their government tells every Iraqi that they do not, and will not, have democracy under US occupation. His appointment said as clearly as could be that the US occupation is corrupt. Chalabi is hated by the Iraqi People as a traitor.

The elections were a sham and it is clear only our puppets will ever be "elected" while the US military occupies Iraq.

4. Salem Chalabi, Ahmed's nephew, had the final Iraqi approval on the
US "contractors" doing "business" during the Paul Bremer era.
