this patricia owens woman judge must be a shameless woman ...
after being rejected for a nominated post by the senate, after her nomination, along with that of other judges, had the senate in an uproar, after soooooooo many in the country think of her a right wing nut .... she has the indecency not to withdraw her nomination and bush has the indecency to keep pushing his dictatorship and power grab.

since the bushes like to pay back those who slight them... is there anyone here who thinks that these resent for confirmation judges have anything with when judge bork was not confirmed as one of daddy's (or was it reagan's and daddy's) nominated judges?

such shameless indecency--where is the moral outrage by the moral majority?

2. I remember bork being a nixon nominee
Could be wrong, but wasn't Bork #3 in the justice department and the one who fired Archibald Cox?

6. Yep. The "Saturday NIght Massacre" and Bork was the gunman.
He became acting Attorney General in 1973 after firing Watergate Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox. Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Richardson's Deputy Attorney General, William Ruckelshaus, resigned rather than carry out Nixon's order. That gave Bork a double promotion ... and the undying loyalty of Reichbots everywhere.

Reagan appointed him to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals in 1982 and then attempted to appoint him to the USSC in 1987. Ooops!

14. Bork Did Nixon's Dirty Work in '73
The infamous Saturday Night Massacre. Nixon had had it with special prosecutor Archibold Cox and ordered his AG...Elliot Richardson to fire him. Richardson not only refused but turned in his resignation. So did Richardson's number two. Nixon finally got the #3 hack, Bork to fire Cox, and he became acting AG.

Bork resurfaced in '87 when Raygun nominated him to the Supreme Court seat now occupied by Anthony Kennedy. Democrats didn't control the Senate at the time but had enough moderates on the Repugnican side that it forced Raygun to stand down and withdraw the nomination. This still burns in many wingnuts as much as Clarence Thomas.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Bunnypants nominate Bork just to piss us all off all over again.

15. thanks for the historical background on bork.
i was of the mind that bush's insistence on the owen nomination, and each of those he has resubmitted after they were turned down for confirmation by the senate, was/were in a way a payback for the bork thing... but now that you mention it ... bush's perfect payback would be for him to nominate bork all over again--and he is, i believe, right capable of doing it, like you say, to piss us all off all over again!

7. She is Karl Rove's long time pet. He guaranteed her a federal judgeship.
Rove has put a lot of time and effort into training and corrupting her and they would have killed half the people in of NYC to get her on the federal bench.
