Flash: The Internet is bringing them down!
After 9-11 I had a strong suspicion that the Internet was going to be the undoing of the "evildoer squatters in The White House" and their cabal of neoncon traitors. Now I am convinced. It is the one medium they cannot control and it is absolutely twisting the knife in them ever so slowly. Day by day the bloggers are getting the truth out and Americans are finally beginning to get it. Pretty soon they will really get it and then all hell will begin to break loose and the whole house of cards will tumble. Despite the spin, they are in panic mode right now. Iraq has gone into the shitter and is now acknowledged even by the stoic military establishment to be a lost cause. And we now have concrete proof via The Downing Street Memo (something we at DU always knew) that the whole war was cooked and we and the Congress were lied into it. The economy is hanging by a thread and is sinking fast despite the rhetoric and spin of The Wall Streeters. And the Chinese and Japanese are now shunning our bonds. This should be a huge story but has gotten little mention in the MSM, so what else is new. But it is getting out on The Net. Add to that dissention in the ranks over The Nuclear Option (what a joke) and the fissures are growing larger every day. And now the main arm of Bushco's propaganda machine has lost almost half its audience. It won't be long before you will see some breaking in these ranks as The Whores will be forced to report or face total irrelevance (we at DU know they are right now). My greatest fear is that this band of criminals in a last act desperation might create another 9-11 event - God Forbid. But stealing two elections, orchestrating another Pearl Harbor, and starting a major unprovoked war shows us they will stop at nothing to achieve their heinous and evil goals. The truth is the enemy of fascism - and finally the truth is getting out. God Bless The Internet and Al Gore for inventing it.

Edited on Thu May-26-05 12:39 AM by slaveplanet
finally recieves his bona fides---

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2005-05-04-gore-webby_x.htm

"It's just one of those instances someone did amazing work for three decades as congressman, senator and vice president and it got spun around into this political mess," Shlain said.

Vint Cerf, undisputedly one of the Internet's key inventors, will give Gore the award at a June 6 ceremony in New York.

"He is indeed due some thanks and consideration for his early contributions," Cerf said

Gore, who boasted in a CNN interview he "took the initiative in creating the Internet," was only 21 when the Internet was born out of a Pentagon project.

But after joining Congress eight years later, he promoted high-speed telecommunications for economic growth and supported funding increases for the then-fledging network, according to the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which presents the annual awards.

Average Joe Blogger and community action sites like DU have been instrumental in initiating conversation and analysis about events that the lazy and lax corporate media has completely and willfully ignored or merely skipped over.

16. I agree! I think the same thing! and now look at Conyers..
his media bias forum put into record the lies and propaganda being spewed out! Conyers served on the judicary commitee during watergate, and at the forum he mentioned this and spoke of the start of watergatye was a small entry in a Washington Post article on page 38!!! Look to his opening statements about the press investigating watergate and Iran-Contra....

Then listen to the later advice to march down to the Post and DEMAND they print the truth... see what they do if all 89 congress men and women are standing in the Post main office in DC, story in hand! In fact, I intend to write Conyers a letter promoting this very action!.. and if he tells me, I'll go too!

oh happy days for the Impeachment of bushco!

Fed's Bernanke pledges sound analysis for Bush
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/05/25/AR2005052500631.html

"Bernanke is viewed by many analysts as a possible successor to Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan, who will step down early next year when his Fed board seat expires. Some analysts believe a White House stint would bolster Bernanke's credentials for the job, but others think Bush might be reluctant to tap Bernanke after only a short CEA tenure."

In other words analysts are confused. My guess is that Bernanke is the PPT's fed insider... his new position might be in order to make a difficult job more manageable..

& then there's this

The Fed Is All Wrong About Inflation
http://thestreet.com/funds/jubak/10225038.html

"For the last year, I've been convinced that inflation is back and getting worse. I can feel it in my everyday life. My favorite pizza guy raised his price for a slice by 20% last month. My kids' tuitions climbed 8% this year. Heating oil and electricity are more expensive. Breakfast cereal. Books. You name it, it costs more. Yet for the last year, Alan Greenspan and the other members of the Federal Reserve's interest-setting body, the Federal Open Market Committee, have been telling me not just that there isn't any inflation, but that there really isn't any danger of inflation. "

this guy smells a rat too... just like DUer Dan spillane...

33. yep -> Rumsfeld laments global reach of news in wartime
Edited on Wed May-25-05 11:24 PM by bpilgrim
PHILADELPHIA - One of the military's new wartime challenges is dealing with a global media that allows information that may be false or damaging to U.S. interests to spread instantly around the world, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Wednesday.

"This is really the first war in history that is being conducted in an era of multiple global satellite television networks, 24-hour news outlets with live coverage of terrorist attacks, disasters and combat operations," Rumsfeld said in a speech to members of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia.

U.S. officials, he said, must also deal with "a global Internet with universal access and no inhibitions, e-mail, cell phones, digital cameras wielded by anyone and everyone" and "a seemingly casual disregard for the protection of classified information, resulting in a near continuous hemorrhage of classified documents, to the detriment of the country."

Rumsfeld didn't delve deeply into specifics in his brief talk with members of the civic group, but his comments seemed aimed, in part, at news outlets that had broadcast messages from terrorist groups, or reported stories that had fueled rage against Americans in the Muslim world.

CIA Overseeing 3-Day War Game on Internet

May 25th, WASHINGTON - The CIA is conducting a war game this week to simulate an unprecedented, Sept. 11-like electronic assault against the United States. The three-day exercise, known as "Silent Horizon," is meant to test the ability of government and industry to respond to escalating Internet disruptions over many months, according to participants.

45. The Internet is at their mercy.
The 'boys' can shut us down any time they want. Folks out there need to think about alternative means of communication. Remember the days before the internet when all there was were BBS's? They may get so paranoid that the administration orders massive filtering of sites. It's already happening to select individuals and sites under the guise of homeland security but every day their ability to monitor and control Internet communications increase. It will happen, it's just a matter of when.

43. You can be assured...
Any form of vibrant, healthy communication between citizens of the international community is deleterious to the status quo our current administration is attempting to maintain. Communications technologies are counterbalancing the incredible secrecy being employed by this government, and they're in the process of removing that freedom from us.

Take special note of the "cyber-terrorism" drills that are being performed as we speak. Just from me to you, were I to be a dictator in Presidents' clothing, I would find my Achilles' Heel, and immediately find ways to prevent my potential opponents from attacking it.

The internet is the Achilles' Heel of consolidated power.

60. Pick one - what is your flavor?
Will it be:
Iraq War
Stolen election
9-11
Valerie Plame
Gannon/Guckert

I could go on and on. It takes a long time to build an avalanche, but once it gains momentum it blows like crazy gaining in speed along the way. The hubris and outright greed of the neocons will be their ultimate undoing. So far they have pretty much had it their way, but things are changing. People inside the beltway are now beginning to see how really dangerous they are and cracks are surfacing in their impenetrable armor. This group is wrapped in so much dirt and scandalous activity that no level of secrecy will be able to keep it hidden forever. I'm truly amazed they have been able to suppress it as well as they have. Were it not for an impotent Democratic opposition and complicit mainstream media, this thing would have blown wide open a long time ago. A dictatorship can only flourish when the masses are kept in a state of ignorance. Once the truth is known, the masses resist and revolt and the dictatorship collapses. So it will be here. We are just starting to see the underlying signs. All of our efforts here at DU and the many other diligent activist groups, websties, bloggers are starting to take hold. Hell there is now even a grand jury empaneled in Albany, New York investigating government involvement in 9-11. Keep the faith.

57. I just hope there are criminal trials
and if our country doesn't step up to the plate it will be a multi-national legal problem. I hope they are all sued as individuals, loose their citizenship and are expelled from the country.. They can go to France...oops, humm, they can go to Germany, uhhh, they can go to Mexico, ummmm, they could go to Canada, welll maybe not, they could go to South America or Africa? Maybe they would like to live in the new democracies of say Afghanistan or Iraq. Yes, banish them to Baghdad, where they can flush all the Korans they like. You know how Muslims like that. You know how they love Muslims and what an example we have shown bringing the love of God to their country as prescribed by our Saviour Jesus. They must love our Jesus in Baghdad by now. They will be pleased to have Don Rumsfeld move to Falugia now that it is safely burned and bombed into the ground.
