WOOLSEY IRAQ EXIT STRATEGY ON CSPAN NOW
Edited on Wed May-25-05 05:56 PM by kevin_pdamerica
Woosley Amnd. Debate on Iraq Exit!

Conyers Speaking now!!!!

info here:
Today, PDA discovered that the House Rules Committee has permitted Rep.
Lynn Woolsey to offer an amendment on Iraq to the Defense Authorization
Bill (H.R. 1815 - the National Defense Authorization Act for FY06).
Woolsey's Amendment is calling for the President to develop a plan for
the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq and submit a plan to the
Congressional Defense Committees. According to Woolsey's office, the
amendment will be voted on the House floor tonight during debate of the
Defense Authorization Bill. If the Woolsey amendment is adopted, it will
open the debate about Iraq and how to move towards total Iraqi
sovereignty and U.S. withdrawal. It is urgent that you help move this
debate forward by calling your representative TODAY and urging your member
of Congress to vote "YES" on the Woolsey amendment.

I flipped on to see Duke Cunningham. He was a great astronaut, but makes one shithole of a Representative.

I predict >50% of the speakers on Woolsey's side are from the CBC.

He's my rep! Go Marty!

He's quoting Gov. Bush calling on Pres Bubba to have an exit strategy from Cosevo.

What comes around, goes around.

My prediction was wrong, the speakers aren't necessarily from the CBC (of which 2 are members), they are all members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Woolsy is the chair.

"The * needs to be honest with the American people, tell us our exit strategy....."

6. you see how tight the speaker is being with time
the repugs want us to get over with it. look how many people are standing by his side watching the clock. "How dare they speak!" I am sure the repugs are saying. There are many Progressive Caucus members there! This was coordinated by Woolsey.

Where is JJ Jr? Kucinich? Ambercrombie? Other CBC members?

15. Pelosi and Hoyer should be ashamed!
Edited on Wed May-25-05 09:00 PM by Idioteque
Hoyer especially...at least Pelosi votes with the caucus some times.

It's time for a new whip. All Hoyer does is whip the caucus to the right. Honestly, why would you pick a whip that is to the right of the average Democrat? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?
