TO SENATORS: What are you doing to prevent Bush's planned war on Iran?

Senators,

Former weapons inspector Scott Ritter was tipped off that the Bush administration is planning to attack Iran in June.

I am concerned that they may fabricate another terrorist attack to justify and gain public support for their next costly oil war.

Senator Boxer, you have done an admirable job of standing up for us lately, but the people of California need you to protect us from the next round of Bush lies and violence before they start.

Senator Feinstein, I know you think if you are liberal on other issues, people won't notice your support of these deadly policies, but we do. Please represent us on this crucial issue so we don't have to replace you in next year's primaries.

America needs an energy policy that doesn't depend on killing people and stealing their oil--that policy doesn't even seem to be designed to help the American people, but only the oil companies, defense and construction contractors that support the Bush administration.

In the bubble in Washington of lobbyist and media, Bush may look invincible, but the vast majority of the American people are waiting for the Democrats to stand up to him and stand up for us the way Senator Boxer and just a handful of other senators and congressmen have done.

2. We all need to let our reps know

that war against Iran is utter madness.

Also, let your friends and neighbors know what is going on. I have been handing out flyers about it-- the news about US military intentions toward Iran freaks people out, and rightly so.

3. Bolton has to be stopped.

If he is not stopped, Iran will be attacked and everyone will go to war over fake weapons of mass destruction, oil, religion, and stupidity yet again.

That travesty can not be allowed! We should all ally with George Voinovich and the rest who are set on derailing Bolton, to make sure he does not become ambassador.

I know it looks bleak, but there is always the possibility he won't be confirmed. You have to do everything you can!

5. I emailed Boxer before the Iraq invasion asking her to vote against it

(That is, after someone realized that Bush had to go to the government to request it), and got a nice email in support of Bush in return. Perhaps not in support of Bush, but of an intention to vote in favor of invasion.

It's worth another shot! Let's get it on the record anyway.
