What's your experience?

My Republican social friends are practically clueless about their dangerous intra-party schism.

Their consciousness registers "personal tax cuts" at worst, and the "big tent" at best.

Are we starting to see an awakenening?

2. Only if we take their KoolAid away and force feed them the truth.
The Sheepel are very hard to wake up. However we are seeing sighs at last.

3. Not so in my neck of the woods...
The Republicans that I know are solidly FOR the Neo-Con agenda. Whether they know about them or not is a moot point, because even if they did they'd agree. My boss, for example, has said outright, "If other countries won't tow the American line, then they deserve to be invaded." I asked if he was serious, and he said absolutely.

4. Yes and No
The established, long-time Republicans seem to be more acutely aware of the party takeover and passionately upset with the Rapturist Rightwing zealots.

The newly successful and 'first Republican in my family' types seem less aware of history, minimally aware of the dangers ahead with the neocon agenda and still believe that Roe v Wade will never really be overturned.
