WINNIPEG – A Manitoba Mountie is heading to Jordan in July to train Iraqi police officers.
Staff Sergeant John Haley of the Spruce Plains Detachment is usually stationed in Neepawa.
He'll be heading to the International Police Training Facility in Jordan, one of 300 police officers from around the world who are helping in the training initiative.

Haley says he welcomes the chance to teach others the basics that make the Mounties such a strong police force.
He has been chosen twice before to participate in international missions, in Haiti and Kosovo, but was unable to take up the challenge because of ongoing investigations here in Canada.
