Damining editorial mentioning the Downing St. memo, in the FL Panhandle!
Even newspapers in the staunchest of red areas are finally running with it.

"Bush’s gamble on Iraq put credibility at stake"
http://www.pensacolanewsjournal.com/opinion/html/775B21C3-54F5-4230-A695-58DEBCF90B2F.shtml

"Was President Bush misled by U.S. intelligence gaffes, or did he lie about his reasons for going to war?

Slowly, the media is beginning to re-examine this question. It is needed."

Now, the far right around here always brands the News Journal as a liberal rag (as they do with anything that resembles media). But most people, i think, view them as fairly moderate (and they are). If local papers in red areas are printing stuff like this in their Sunday editorial pages, it may get a few million more moderate conservatives around the country thinking and "re-examing this question".

1. well they need to examine it quicker
our soldiers are still dying for these lies. our country is dying for these lies. you have the power republicans. this fight will go a lot easier if you jump on board with us. holding the president accountable is not a partisan thing. it's our job as WE THE PEOPLE.

2. Excellent editorial!
Thanks for posting this.

I am beginning to think the White House is starting to receive major blow back for their specious attack on Newsweek, it may be that tipping point many have speculated about. It is only since the attack on Newsweek combined with the Downing Street Minutes (it was NOT a memo), it seems to me, that editorials and articles, in what could be classified as 'mainstream', are actually calling out the bush cabal.

5. So, what'd it take? "Only" 1,600 dead soldiers?
And now they allow as how it might be just about time for us to get fixin' to be ready to "re-examine" the question of whether Bush lied about his reasons for going to war?

It's an encouraging sign, no doubt, but I'd be mighty glad if the News Journal could point me to any indication that they ever examined this question in the first place now that they're thinking about gettin' ready to "re-examine" this issue.

6. How did this editorial slip by the top guns?
He deserves a medal, but I'll bet he was promptly dismissed at 9am today and is at home dusting off his resume. You dont fuck with bush in Florida.
