Seems like it says "Each life is precious. Each memory calls us to action. To honor those lost we committ (sic) ourselves to reject hatered (sic) and to teach tolerance and live in peace."

There's a period after "action" and "to" is capitalized. I would have used a comma, though, after "lost".

Having said that, if "commit" wasn't tampered with and "hatred" is misspelled, it's a pretty embarrassing entry.

I nominated this. This is positively humiliating for the American people. I am ashamed. It's one thing to have typos on a DU post or e-mail or, let's say a long document -- or your grocery list. Quite another to put gross misspellings into a permanent record like the visitors' book. And two major mistakes out of 28 words? That means Laura couldn't spell one out of 14 words -- incredible. And this woman preaches to the nation about illiteracy. What a joke. I guess she knows firsthand how limiting it can be. Laura, my advice to you is that you should carry a pocket dictionary with you until you have mastered the English language.

Why didn't Laura ask an aide to help her if she was nervous or couldn't remember how to spell those simple words? Wouldn't you have thought that her aides would have helped her prepare the words she was to write in that book and coached her on the spelling so that this would not happen. They sure "fix" everything else. Are they illiterate too? That would explain a lot.

How could the Republican public relations machine have allowed this to happen? Is the whole sham falling apart now that Bush is just a lame duck?

Well, finally, it's out there for all the world to see. This woman, who claims to love to read, is poorly educated and probably not very bright. Compare her to Senator Clinton. No wonder Bush has made such a mess of the country.
