"Number one Democrat" Warren Beatty, kicked Musclehead Arnold in the ass!!
Edited on Sun May-22-05 02:17 PM by Zinfandel
Beatty lambasted the GOP governor for "bullying labor and the little guys'' such as California nurses and teachers while embracing "the reactionary right wing'' in pursuit of his agenda

"We are not the governor's dumbbells,'' Beatty said to applause and laughter. "It's not fooling anybody for him to be running around raising money ... from rich Republicans all over the country who hope that they can get this reactionary stuff started in California.''

He then asked why the state needs "a totally unnecessary $70 million extra election in November, when we're going to have another one anyway in June. That's nothing but a strategy to distract attention from the failure to deal honestly with the budget.'''

"It's become time to define a Schwarzenegger Republican,'' Beatty said. "A Schwarzenegger Republican is a Bush Republican who says he's a Schwarzenegger Republican.''

"He was great,'' said (Annette) Bening...

The tough words from Beatty come as the governor is outside the state -- this weekend in Florida, Texas and Illinois -- attempting to raise millions from GOP loyalists like Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens for a special election which looks increasingly likely in November.

1. I love the pic of Annette and the kids!!
That's who he's thinking of, I'm sure. I hope more notables begin to speak out and be heard. There is a hunger in our nation for truth. justice and the American Way (the real one!), the one we grew believing in. It's time, people, way past time to show the neocons the door and to make sure their ilk never rise to power in our great country again!

2. No one can beat Schwarzenegger for Guv...NO ONE...Unless...
Edited on Sun May-22-05 02:44 PM by LaPera
So many will vote for him just because of his action hero celebrity star, staus...like all the people cheering for OJ, people don't think, they react, especially to celebrity-ism.

Millions in this State and the whole country for that matter are NOT loyal to any one party or ideology...Rove & the republicans have big plans for Arnold (Republican Senator Orin Hatch is already getting the ball rolling)...

The republicans are not under ANY circumstance going to let Arnold lose California, the republicans just stole the CA Secretary of States office a few month's ago and that's who counts the votes and the new republican Sec. of State is now bringing in electronic voting machines all over the state of California.

Rove & The republicans are going to lie, cheat, smear, distort, using all their usual tactics to go along with a train-load of money, all the money that musclehead wants and needs so to keep California in the republicans hands...and the future (Arnold) of the republican party.

The media will have their republican owned coprpate mainstream media doing all they can to keep Arnold's star rising & glowing, Schwarzenegger is their darling, he sells newspapers and boost ratings...The Dems need someone like that.

Absolutely the only way the Democrats have a chance to get back the governor's seat and keep the State out of the ultra right-wing religious fascist hands (who are drooling at the thought) IS to have someone with equal star status run on the Democrat side...Like a Warren Beatty, a George Clooney or an Alec Baldwin.

Unfortunately, it truly has come to this, in order to get so many voters with their heads up their ass, to pay attention!!!

3. LaPera that was a depressing post, true but - - -
You set-out a picture that looks disgustingly like the way the Rove, Arnold and the whole Repub money people work the system, and it has worked so well so far!

But, as you point out, it is really how the republicans operate.

Unfortunately, I can not see any Democrat coming up against Arnold & the republican money machine that's going to beat him...

The ONLY way Democrats have a chance, is to have a democrat candidate of the same celebrity status as Schwarzenegger to run for Governor, with lots & lots of money and a Hollywood media machine behind them.

Even then, with the cheating republicans and their republican owned electronic voting machines...The outcome may have already been determined in Arnold's favor, as we sit here and speak!!!!

At least a Democrat, (Beatty) stood up and said what needed to be said...Did you see how the republicans reacted? "Let's see Beatty say those things in Orange Country" Spoiled babies all them republicans!

11. That's dividing tactics in the
State of California..

"Let's see Beatty say those things in Orange Country"

I'm saying I think the people of Orange County are smarter than arnie's spokesman gives them credit for.

arnie is a bush republican and he's driving California into the ground.

6. Absolutely correct.
Republicans are bankrupt on ideas that can help the 98% who don't benefit from their economic agenda. As a result, they have to resort to box office appeal.....actors, football players, etc.

Why else run Schwarzenator? What has he ever done by way of public service?

So I agree....when Republicans resort to this type of candidate, we need to nuetralize that advantage by running a Democrat with a similar appeal.

Electronic voting machines (with NO paper trail) are indeed a huge problem in California. Republicans are no doubt working on stealing it right now.

5. Well, hell. Good for Warren!
In truth, I don't think he's the most gifted actor ever, but his political instincts are terrific.

10. Look at those adorable kids of
theirs'.

Thank Goodness for Beatty speaking out so knowledgeably at Berkeley.

I see where arnie's spokesman was insulting the good people of Orange County by insinutating they wouldn't be receptive to what Warren Beatty had to say. It's only obvious that the groper is bush republican.

And calling Beatty a name like "crackpot"..is just more of swartz's girly men name calling that has won him so many friends.

And what was that about a swartzengroper movie being on the tube all the time? Yeah, he's got a lot of bad movies out there ..what's your point?

13. I love their daughter in her tie-dye dress. Annette Being
would be a huge asset to Beatty if he ran, a mother of four, sharp, intelligent and beatiful...I love to see her as the first lady (and first family of California). Ben, definitely has his mothers smile...

Go Bulworth!
