FLASH: Fat Timmy has a research dept - Howie does Timmy
I think ol' Howie acquitted himself well against Timmy the Fat Potato. We also learned that Fat Timmy has a research department and he ain't afraid to use it. He pulled up some really crappy, out of context, arcane snips from the vaunted NBC video clips of shame library.

Howie was very cool. Just the right mix of bemusement, indignation, and self deprecation.

As a reader of DU, there was little that was (to me) new or newsy, but it was great to watch Howie in action.

The only downer ..... as posted elsewhere in its own thread, no mention of the Downing Street memo. While I would love to see that plastered all over, I'll give Howie the benefit of the doubt and assume they're working on a strategy.

All in all, I feel we're in good hands. While I was never an out and out Terry Mac basher, I feel one hell of a lot better with Howie in the chair.

That's for sure.

1. Howard Obliquely Explained Why No Mention Of Memo. Staying On Message
his answer about why Congressional Dems didn't speak out about Schiavo.

They were staying on message about Social Security.

I can buy that.

Yes, they could bring up the Memo now but it'd take attention away from SS and the filibuster crap is related to that.

2. Agreed! I never really bashed Terry either, but he really did
sound like a used car salesman a lot of times. It's good to have someone who's plain spoken for a change.

I don't think the Downing St memo is going away any time soon. Lets see where it goes.

4. I think the Downing Street memo is the first concrete step to impeachment
I am wondering if the tide is turning against Bushco for real.

5. You'll NEVER have an impeachment of Shrub as long as Pubs
control the House! The order HAS to originate in the House, and a smae Party will NEVER do that to their own President.

3. Felt to me like Dr. Dean has a plan and he's going to stick to it.
No matter how Media Whore Number 1 tries to
distract him.

I thought Howard was great. Not magnificent, but
pretty damn good.

Also, there was no need for a Thug representative.
Timmeh-Ho made all of their points for them.

HD: Eliminate the cap to save SS.
TH: But that's raising taxes!!

HD: The president lied about Iraq and WMD.
TH: But Kerry and Clinton and Boxer all voted for the resolution.
