I know what will bring down the Republicans.
Their moral posturings, their high dudgeon at immoralities committed by others and their holier-than-thou attitudes are so against the fundamental forces of human nature they are bound to fail time and again as the numerous instances of their hypocrisies stand revealed.

I think the person to lay them low is going to be a woman totally uninhibited by their sexual fears and able to get some of their most powerful hypocrites in 'compromising positions'.

I went back to a short story written by W.Somerset Maugham nearly seventy years ago titled the RAIN.In that short story a woman of ill repute traps a fire breathing preacher who wants to 'reform' her and winds up in bed with her after a few Prayer Meetings in her apartment.
Sounds like something waiting to happen to the Republican Fundamentalists. It doesn't seem to occur to these a--h 's that sex is a primal instinct and it is better to yield to its temptations than be hypocritical in our resistance.

1. I agree.
When people say things like "Democrats do it too" I always think "well yes, but not while preaching endlessly about their purity".

The Republican platform is nothing if not "unnatural". You got that right!

2. Unfortunately, the tendency today...
... is for the mighty, when put in compromising positions, to plead to their television flock to give them the benefit of the doubt and to plead for their forgiveness.

Jimmy Swaggart might be the poster boy for that routine. :P

Look at how much hypocrisy has been tolerated by the faithful in just the last few years.

I'd much rather see some effort to characterize them in real terms--to describe them accurately as a small minority in the country who've obtained a voice larger than their numbers because of the efforts of corrupt politicians.

The real focus should be on the politicians, not the faux Christians in the pulpits of the mega-churches. Without the help of politicians such as Frist and DeLay, the TV preachers would be seen as the cultists that they are.

4. That would be my choice
I hope it wasn't a stealth effort to promote a Hillary candidacy.
